Yu Min's deeds

Yu Min is a little-known nuclear physicist known as China's "father of the hydrogen bomb."

Among the several pioneers of nuclear physics in China, Yu Min is the only one who does not have a background in studying abroad.

In the theoretical exploration of hydrogen bombs, Yu Min almost started from a blank sheet of paper and relied on his own diligence to draw inferences from one example.

Overcoming many difficulties and conducting independent research and development, it solved a series of basic problems in the development of hydrogen bombs.

In 1967, China completed a hydrogen bomb nuclear explosion experiment.

From the atomic bomb to the hydrogen bomb, it only took China two years and eight months, which is the fastest in the world.

During the development of the hydrogen bomb, Yu Min proposed a basically complete idea from principle to configuration, and became a key figure in the development of China's hydrogen bomb.

Since the 1970s, Yu Min and other scholars have advocated to accelerate my country's inertial confinement fusion research and included it in my country's high-tech development plan, which has greatly promoted the progress of my country's national defense science and technology.

Yu Min's main achievements: Mr. Yu Min was born in Ninghe, Tianjin on August 16, 1926.

He graduated from the Department of Physics of Peking University in 1949 and studied as a postgraduate student at Peking University from 1949 to 1951.

Mr. Yu Min was awarded the title of “National Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution” in 1984, the “National May Day Labor Medal” in 1985, the title of “National Model Worker” in 1987, and the Special Prize of Guanghua Award in 1992.

In 1994, he won the "China Outstanding Scientist" Award from the Hong Kong Qiushi Science and Technology Foundation, in 1999 he won the "Two Bombs and One Satellite" Meritorious Service Medal, in 2014 he won the National Highest Technology Award, in 2015 he won the honorary title of National Model of Dedication, and in 2018 he was selected
