Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base is one of the main research bases for the China Municipal Government to implement the ex situ conservation project for endangered wild animals such as giant pandas, and it is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
It is a well-known research institution for the protection of rare and endangered wild animals such as giant pandas in China and even in the world, which integrates giant panda scientific research and breeding, conservation education, educational tourism and panda culture construction.
By the end of 20 16, it has undertaken 1 national major basic research projects, 1 national tenth five-year high-tech research projects, as well as a number of provincial and municipal scientific research projects and research projects of Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Foundation. Introduction of main panda attractions in Chengdu:
1, Chengdu Giant Panda Museum: It was founded on 1992, and the new museum was put into exhibition construction on August 20 19, and officially opened to the public on March 3, 20021year. It is an international modern museum integrating science popularization, public education, exhibition, exhibits collection, protection and academic research.
2. Panda Tower: 69.8 meters high, with 9 floors in total. Towers have sprung up, and the ground space is guided by hibiscus flowers. The Panda Tower is a new commanding height in Chengdu, overlooking the entire Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base. It is a new landmark building in Chengdu, and it is also a punching place for network celebrities. It is opposite to "339" and faces the Twin Towers of the Financial City from north to south.
3. Panda Valley: Covering an area of 2004 mu, it is located in Majiagou, Yutang Town, Dujiangyan City, adjacent to Dujiangyan Millennium Water Conservancy Project and Qingcheng Mountain, a Taoist holy place, 50 kilometers away from Chengdu and about 3 kilometers away from Dujiangyan City. There are more than 700 species of animals and plants in this area, which is a natural base for giant pandas to be released in the wild.
