Gaoyou Lake is the third largest freshwater lake in Jiangsu Province and the sixth largest freshwater lake in the country. It is rich in more than 60 kinds of fish, shrimps, crabs, shells, water shields, reeds and other animals and plants.

The magical Gaoyou Lake shelduck with a thousand-year breeding history is one of the three excellent duck strains in the country. Gaoyou salted duck eggs have been listed as national origin protected products, and Gaoyou double yellow duck eggs are famous at home and abroad.
