Walnut bun is the Han snack with the longest history and the most special identity among the delicacies of Ningqiang region of Shaanxi Province, which is surrounded by Qinling Mountains in the north and Bashan Mountain in the south. It was used as a tribute when Cixi took refuge in the 26th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty. It was later spread among the people and prospered from generation to generation. Baked with flour and walnuts, it is as small as a porcelain lid, golden in color, and crispy in the mouth. The color and taste remain the same after being left for more than ten days.
