Where is the specialty of Zhongping chives?

Zhongping Village, Xiangzhou Town, Tiandong County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is located in the hinterland of the Youjiang Valley, on the south bank of the Youjiang River. Since the 1990s, farmers here have begun to grow chives, which is known as "Guangxi The first village of chives."

In November 2003, the village fully seized the opportunity of Tiandong County being listed as the second batch of counties in the country to create a pollution-free agricultural product production demonstration base, and established the Zhongping Village Pollution-free Vegetable Association.

In 2004, Guangdong four-season chives were introduced, and the scale of chive planting continued to expand. In order to expand and strengthen the chive industry, the village established a professional chive farmer cooperative, registered the chive brand trademark, and implemented unified planning, unified varieties, unified technology, unified brand, and unified sales for the chive industry, which greatly improved the quality of the chive industry. The market competitiveness and share of chives have further promoted the industrialization process of chives. Last year, the planting area reached more than 4,000 acres (including multiple planting), with more than a dozen varieties. Chives are sold both inside and outside the region, with daily sales of about 10 tons, and an annual output value of more than 15.3 million yuan. For chives alone, farmers’ annual per capita net income exceeds 4,000 yuan.
