Nero is a CD burning program produced by a German company, which supports ATAPI(IDE) CD burner and Chinese long file name burning, and can burn various types of CDs. This is a pretty good CD burning program. This article is a concise course of Nero's combustion.
The following tutorials are transferred from major websites!
Learning operation
Nero installation is very simple, step by step. Let's start with burning data discs and get familiar with Nero's functions and the significance of each option.
The new nero startup interface has changed a lot compared with the past, which reflects the consideration and care of the software for users.
Select a task and the following interface will appear.
Select File-New to open the menu as shown in the figure below. In this menu, we can select the CD-ROM (ISO) to burn. You can use this option in Nero to create ISO discs and multi-recording discs (including additional data).
If your CD-R/RW is blank and the data to be written is less than the capacity of a CD-ROM (650MB/700MB), then you can choose "Multiple Records". If your CD-R/RW uses "Start burning multiple discs" without closing the discs, you can select "Continue burning multiple discs" to introduce previously written data. When using "Continue to burn more discs", Nero will read the last ISO track of the disc in the burner in advance. If you want to write the whole CD at once, or don't want to add any more data, you can choose "No more recording" to get the maximum space, the best compatibility and the fastest reading speed.
After determining the type of disc to burn, we can enter the setting interface of ISO (file option) option, as shown below. The settings in this interface are related to whether the burned CD can be read on DOS, UNIX and Mac systems. Whether to support long file names; Whether Chinese file names and directory names are supported; Therefore, everyone should understand clearly one by one.
"File name/directory name length": ISO 1 level file names and directory names can only use 1 1 characters at most, that is, long file names are not supported. To relax this restriction, we must choose ISO 2 level, so that we can use long file names.
At present, ISO-9660 has two standards: 1 grade and 2 grade. Level 1 is DOS-compatible. The file name adopts the traditional 8.3 format, and all characters can only be 26 uppercase English letters, 10 Arabic numerals and underscores. Level 2 is improved on the basis of Level 1, allowing the use of long file names. Although Nero can only support 365,438+0 characters, it does not support DOS.
Format: There are two options: "mode 1" and "mode 2". The Yellow Book specification defines two different data structures. In the header field of a CD-ROM cluster (sector), there is a byte indicating that the data in this area is mode 1 or mode 2. The mode 1 indicates that the optical disk data contains error correction code (ECC), and each sector stores 2048 bytes of data. However, there is no error correcting code for Mode 2 data, so each sector can store 288 bytes more, reaching 2336 bytes. Therefore, mode 2 is more suitable for storing graphics, sound or audio-visual data. We can designate each data track on the CD as mode 1 or mode 2, but the sectors in it can only have one format to store data.
Among the character set options, there are four sub-options: ISO 9660, DOS, ASCII, Multibyte and Joliet.
Relax ISO restrictions: The options of "Allow path depth to exceed 8 directories" and "Allow path length to exceed 255 characters" are relaxation of ISO 9660 standard, which can effectively supplement the shortcomings of this standard. But if these two options are checked, it will be unreadable on the old operating system and Mac.
Next, it's time to set the label options. Click the tab and enter the name of the disc you want to use. Click the Date tab to set the date and time when files and directories were created on the CD. After setting, you can press the "New" button on the right to enter the file selection window.
Drag the browser to the right of the file you want to burn to the file list on the left. Click the "Open CD Directory Program" button to enter the "Write CD" dialog box.
If you want to add data next time, please check "Write". If you write the whole CD at once or don't want to write any more data, please check "End CD" to close the whole CD.
"Determine the maximum speed" is to test whether the system can keep up with the recording speed before recording. If the speed is not enough, it will slow down the burning speed and avoid burning failure to some extent.
Writing speed can set the writing speed. If you have enough time, you should try to burn at a low speed, which not only has a high success rate, but also has a small risk of burning.
The "CD once" in the "writing method" is actually the Tao mode.
"Number of copies burned" can set the number of discs burned. There is usually an option next to "number of copies burned", which mainly corresponds to some options of reverse engraving technology. If the recorder can support these functions, it will open the corresponding function options, and you need to check this position to make the corresponding immortal technology take effect.
After setting all the above settings, we can press the "Burn" button to start burning.
Familiar with burning data discs, let's learn how to burn discs in other formats with Nero: Select "File-New", and you can choose various types of discs we want to burn in the menu that appears. Including audio CD, mixed mode CD, CD copy, VCD, Super Video CD, boot, etc.
Select "VCD" to make VCD discs. Generally speaking, when we burn VCD discs, we use them on ordinary home VCD machines, in order to make them meet the standards of VCD machines. To create a CD that meets the standards, "Create a CD that meets the standards" must be selected. Since most home VCD players can only recognize the international standard of ISO 9660, the file/directory name length of ISO 1 and the character set of ISO 9660 are required here. Do not choose "relaxing ISO restrictions". After setting, you can press the "New" button to enter the editing of VCD programs. Nero can support the following image file formats. Data and. Mpg, but all must be standard MPEG- 1 encoding. What we should pay attention to is to drag the image file to the audio track window under the CD panel, instead of putting it in the. Dat files are stored after burning. This is very important!
In a word, Nero burning Rom is a very powerful software, and the latest version is more user-friendly. Besides simple burning, there are many other functions, such as editing audio, designing CD cover and so on.
A concise course of Nero's super sculpture
With the continuous decline in the price of recorders, more and more recorders have flooded into the homes of ordinary computer users. Burners are increasingly favored by computer users because of their advantages such as the lowest unit cost, large storage capacity, simple operation and long storage time of burned discs. However, in the process of using burners, many users will encounter some problems. The most typical one is burning with a burner.
When you download files in ISO format from the Internet, you will often encounter files with download packages larger than 700M m ... When these files are burned on a CD, the burning software will prompt that the available space of the CD is exceeded, and you need to insert other large-capacity CDs to continue burning. Take Nero burning software as an example. In this case, the following screen will appear:
At this time, the recorder will automatically open the warehouse door, and the recording process cannot continue without replacing the large-capacity CD. This is because the capacity of most CD-W discs is 700M, while the capacity of erasable CD-RW discs is 650M m. In fact, if the file size does not greatly exceed the capacity of the discs, it is entirely possible to burn such discs by over-engraving.
As we all know, theoretically, the capacity of each type of CD-R and CD-RW discs is fixed. But in fact, CD manufacturers usually leave room in the production process. On the outer edge of the optical disc, optical materials are normally and uniformly coated, and most recording software such as Nero and NTI CD DVD-Maker Platinum also provide the function of recording in these abnormal recording areas, that is, the so-called over-engraving. With this function, you can burn data on a CD-R disc that exceeds its theoretical capacity limit. The following is an example of Nero V6.3. 1.20 burning software, which introduces the specific operation process of CD-R disc overprinting, hoping to help everyone.
Step 1: Test the actual capacity of the CD.
In order to know the actual capacity of the CD accurately, you can test the CD by Nero CD-DVD Speed in Nero software. Insert the CD-R disc into the burner, and click Nero → Nero Toolkit → Nero CD-DVD speed under the start menu, as shown in the figure below:
The "Nero CD-DVD Speed" program screen will appear, and click "Overcarving Test …" in the menu bar "Others", as shown in the figure:
Then a test window will appear, showing the basic information of CD-R discs, including capacity, time, manufacturer, disc type and so on.
Select the Start button to start the test. After a while, the test results will be displayed on the screen, as shown in the figure.
In a prompt box that appears after the simulated over-engraving process of the recorder is completed, it shows that the total recordable time of CD-R discs is 2: 1 1.38, and asks whether to save this result in the CD-R(W) list. You can decide whether to save it according to your own situation. After that, the test result window will be displayed. Green represents the part that can be burned normally, and yellow represents the part that can be overprinted. The specific parameters are in the box below. Just select "Close" to exit.
Step 2: Set engraving settings.
After simulating burning, you can enter the actual combat stage by knowing that the CD-R disk may be over-engraved. At this point, you must make the necessary settings to burn Nero software. As long as both hardware and software have the necessary conditions for super carving, you can follow the following steps for super carving.
Start the recording software "Nero Burning ROM", click "Settings (F)…" under "File (f)" in the menu bar, click the "Advanced Properties" tab in the displayed "Settings" page, select the state of "Allow one-time recording of over-engraved discs", and set the maximum capacity of subsequent discs to 85 minutes (85 minutes is random, generally slightly higher than Nero's.
After selection, you can click OK to return to the main interface of the recording software, then select "End CD (no longer writable) (F)" in the "New Edit" window, and change the default "track once recording" mode to "CD once recording" mode in the "Recording Mode" column. You can click the "New" button to burn. See figure:
Note: in order to ensure the success of over-engraving, your recorder must have the performance of supporting over-engraving; At the same time, try to choose CD-RW or CD-R discs with good reputation in Sony and other markets; When recording, do not use the nominal maximum writing speed of the recorder, and generally use about half of the nominal maximum writing speed for over-recording. For example, 50-speed and 52-speed recorders generally use 24-speed for over-recording, and 32-speed recorders generally use 16 for over-recording, which makes it easier to successfully realize over-recording.
Nero's data burning function and CD copying function must have been used by everyone. Here is a brief introduction to the simple process of making VCD with Nero.
Take Nero burning ROM 5.5. 10.54 as an example.
Start Nero Burning ROM, create a new editor, and select VCD as the type.
A new edit attribute configuration window will pop up. PAL is the TV standard in China, so PAL is chosen as the "coding resolution".
Then click the "New" button in the upper right corner.
In the file browser window on the right, find the prepared video file. After it is selected, drag it to the video track window at the lower left with the mouse.
Nero will then format these video files.
If the file format is incorrect, Nero will pop up a prompt box and refuse to load the file.
If Nero does not support your video file, please format the video file first, and then load it.
After the file analysis is completed, the track number and menu title will be displayed in the lower left window. It is suggested to change the file name to the program title in advance, so that it can be directly applied to the track title.
The track number is the playing order. If you are not satisfied, you can drag the mouse up and down to adjust the playback order. Unnecessary ones can also be removed through the right mouse button menu.
After selecting a track, you can click the Play button below to preview the video file.
After making all adjustments, edit the CD properties again-right-click the CD icon in the upper left window and select Properties.
What needs to be emphasized is the "Menu" setting page. If the "startup menu" item is selected, a startup menu will appear after inserting this CD into the VCD player. This can be decided according to the specific situation. If you burn a movie CD with only one paragraph, there is no need to make any menu, because there is nothing to choose from. If you burn a CD with multiple video paragraphs like this, you can decide whether to add a startup menu according to your own preferences.
If the startup menu is enabled:
In the Arrange column, you can choose the layout format of the menu.
"Background picture" refers to the background of the startup menu. You can use a picture prepared in advance as the background.
The default of "background mode" is "zoom and fit", as long as the aspect ratio of your picture is the same as that of the TV screen, it is ok by default.
The "first page text" is the text displayed at the top of the menu, which is roughly equivalent to the title of the book cover.
Footer Text is the text displayed at the bottom of the menu.
"Item text" refers to the problem of specific menu items, and the page is the title of the video track. You can set the font and color of these words.
After setting, you can click "Preview Home Page" at the bottom left to see the effect. If you are not satisfied, continue editing.
In the "Label" setting page, the "Label" column sets the volume label for this CD, which can be displayed in the computer's resource manager. It doesn't make much sense. Help yourself to other items.
After editing the disc properties, click the "OK" button on the upper right to return to the main interface.
Now is the last step: click the burn button on the toolbar and start burning. Try it on the VCD player when you are finished. Hehe, isn't it a great sense of accomplishment?
Nero, the recording software provided by most recorders, comes with a gadget-Nero Cover de Singer, and you can print CD stickers for free!
Click "Start → Program → Forward Nero→Nero Cover Designer" to enter the main interface of Nero's CD cover and CD box cover design and printing program.
Figure 1 In the "New Document" window of Nero Cover Designer, make selections as needed. For example, if we are carving a data disc with the size of 12cm, then we can choose "date _ classic". "NCT" in the "Data" tab of the "Standard" CD. Click "OK" button to enter the editing window.
Figure 2 Click File → Paper to open the Paper dialog box. Click the item in the predefined paper on the left, and the selected paper will be previewed in the window on the right.
Figure 3 As can be seen from the layout of the printed cover paper shown on the right, the self-adhesive printing paper for CD labels we bought in the market is basically the same as A-ONE 29 12 1.
Note: A-ONE 29 12 1 is the name or model of CD label paper, and the shape can be seen from the screenshot. I'm not sure. We can buy label paper with similar shape (no trademark) in the computer market here (Shandong). Its name is computer printed CD label paper. A pack of 50 stickers 100 discs, the price is about 15 yuan, each 0. 15 yuan. I believe that such label paper can be found in the consumable counters of computer markets all over the country.
Figure 4 Now select the custom paper, press the "Add Paper" button, and an item "Paper 1" will be added to the custom paper (if it has not been added before). Select it, and in the paper box, you can change the paper name and set the value of label paper width/height; Click "Add Item → Label 1", and a plus sign will appear on the left side of paper 1. Click the plus sign to see that the expanded project already has the Label option; Click "Label", enter the values of the outer diameter and inner diameter of the CD, and set the left margin and the top margin for printing in "X/Y". At this point, the paper material setting is completed.
Figure 5 Select the label of CD 1 and you will see a CD-shaped design area. In the paper selection list box in the toolbar, select the paper we just set. In the design area, you can use the toolbox on the left to draw patterns or enter text; You can also right-click the design area, select the background property in the right-click menu, and click the File button in the image tab to import the file and set it. Can you easily make personal video CD labels with Photoshop? Be sure to leave the hole in the middle.
Figure 6. It's time to type it out next. Click "File → Print" and set it in the print dialog box. If you only want to print CD labels, you should uncheck other items except "CD 1" in the Elements tab. After confirmation, a beautiful CD label will spit out from your printer.
As mentioned at the beginning, Nero Cover Designer can not only print CD labels, but also print the cover of CD boxes. Why should these free and useful things be left idle? Look through the CD you gave me when you bought the machine. Maybe there are some good things in it! After choosing custom CD label printing paper, everyone needs patience when adjusting!
There is a simple way to find the data lost by burning a CD for many times, which can make the previously burned files appear. Let's talk about the reasons for this phenomenon first: one reason is that different software is used to engrave the same CD-R many times; Another reason is that when the same software is used to burn a disc that has been engraved more than once, the improper setting of the burning software will also cause this phenomenon.
Let's take Nero-Burning Rom as an example to illustrate the setting of the burning software: after opening Nero-Burning Rom, select "CD-ROM ISO", and if it is the first time to burn this CD-R, select "Start multi-segment CD", as shown in figure 1. For the CD-R that has been burned, you should select "Continue multi-segment burning" so that the burned discs are readable. If "Start Multi-Disc" is selected, you will not see the previously burned content when you enter the burning interface, nor will you see the previously burned content in the resource manager after burning, only the last burned data can be seen.
You can view the previously burned data in the browser in the following ways. Open Explorer, right-click the CD-ROM drive, then left-click Properties on the pop-up menu and click the Volumes tab. You will see several pieces of information, as shown in Figure 2.
Here you can see the information of each recording, such as "volume label", CD data format, creation time, segment size and so on. Select the clip you want to view, and then click OK to see if you have found the data you are looking for.
By the way, this method can hide the data you don't want others to see, and it can be distinguished by different labels.
The burner is BenQ 4824P2. A few days ago, I found that two CD-RW discs suddenly could not be used, indicating that the optical drive has been searching for discs, and finally reminded the discs that there was an error. In Nero 5.5, you cannot erase successfully.
Later, I heard that AHEAD released Nero 6, so I downloaded and installed it at the first time, and found that the function was indeed enhanced compared with the previous version. Nero Startsmart running Nero 6 found that there was an option to erase the CD in other tools. Can you keep my CD-RW for me? When you think of it, quickly dig out the CD-RW that can't be used normally, carefully check whether there are scratches on the CD, insert the CD into the burner, and click the "Erase" button to erase it in about 5 minutes. Open Nero 6 again and try to burn it. Everything is fine! I got my two CD-RW discs back.
Friends who have burned CDs with Nero software know that when we burn CDs with Nero, Nero will display the selected burning speed in the lower left corner of the burning interface. But in fact, our recorder didn't burn the disc at this displayed speed, which means the recording speed displayed by Nero is not accurate at all.
In fact, we can let Nero display the real recording speed in real time by personalizing the registry. The modification method is as follows:
Run RegEdit, the registry editor, and find HKEY _ current _ user \ software \ ahead \ Nero burning ROM \ recorder? Item, under which a new DWORD value named ShowSingleRecorderSpeed is created and assigned to 1.
After restarting Nero, the changes we made will take effect.
At present, some printers (such as Epson Phtot R3 10, SP900, SP950) can print the disk directly, but because of the price, I think most friends still don't "conveniently" use this direct printing method. Here we choose to add pictures to the CD with CD stickers, which can be made by using the Nero Cover Designer tool attached to Nero 6. Here, I will share the method with you!
Figure 1
This paper introduces how to make a cover step by step through examples, including the selection of cover and CD type, the design of various cover elements, cover, back cover, insert and label, etc. Cover design program can make it very easy for you to create a professional personalized cover.
First, choose the cover and disc type, because the available cover elements are different according to the user's choice.
Select "file"->; "New", the "New Document" dialog box pops up, and users can choose their favorite templates as needed.
Figure 2
According to the nature of our graduation CD, I chose the AudioData.nct template in "Audio+Data".
After entering the template, we can see that we need to make four parts: photo album (front), photo album (back), insert and disk. Because we mainly want to make a beautiful disk, this paper mainly tells the process of making the disk.
1, insert a picture.
1. 1 Click the "Disk 1" tab to bring up the template on the disk surface.
1.2 Click the "Image Tool" button on the toolbar, as shown in the red rectangular box above, and load the saved image. The corresponding window will open.
1.3 Change the directory and file type if necessary. Select the file and click the Open button. The screen display can be moved; "filter"->; "Overexposure …" will pop up the following dialog box:
Figure 5
You can adjust the more appropriate effect according to the overexposure progress bar.
Step 2 insert text
2. 1 Select the text box tool in the toolbar to adjust the position of the text box on the disk:
Figure 6
2.2 Double-click the text box and the "Properties" dialog box will pop up, where we can add text. You can adjust the size, font, color and background color of the text.
Figure 7
Step 3 print out
3. 1 After the disk is designed, you should print the drawing on the disk sticker (the price is very cheap, 10 yuan/100). Select file-> print preview to see the effect:
Figure 8
3.2 At the same time, it is necessary to select appropriate paper for CD pasting and list it in File->; In the "paper", generally choose "A-one 29 12 1".
3.3 Put the CD into the printer and print it. I would like to remind you that since CD stickers are a special kind of paper, don't put a lot at once, you must put the paper away.
With more and more backup data, it is not practical to back up data with floppy disk. Nowadays, it is very cheap to burn CDs and recorders, so backing up data with CDs is the current development trend.
There are disposable CDs and erasable CDs. If you back up frequently changing data, it will be a bit wasteful to use disposable CDs. Therefore, erasable CDs are generally used, but every time you change data, you need to back up, and you have to burn all the data again every time, which is very troublesome. Is there any way to make burning easier?
Of course, Nero 6 has new features. By using Nero InCD in the program group, you can turn your erasable burning CD into a mobile hard disk, and drag and drop the files you need to burn directly and save them in the CD. Because of Nero InCD's unique data writing method, you don't have to worry about errors caused by insufficient cache. Let's see how to use this function.
After installing Nero InCD, it will automatically run in the system tray. Double-click the Nero InCD icon in the tray, and the Nero InCD wizard will pop up to help you format the erasable CD in the burner before use.
Click "Next" to select the burner in your computer, and then set the label and format of the burned disc. After setting, click the "Finish" button to start formatting. After formatting, we can paste the data that needs to be backed up directly onto the burned CD just like using a hard disk. How's it going? Isn't that simple?
In addition to Nero InCD, we can also use Easy CD Creator to achieve this function. Easy CD Creator is also our common burning software. Run the software, and click "Make Data CD →DirectCD" to format the erasable CD first. Then select the burner in the settings dialog box, and then click the "Format CD" button, a dialog box will pop up to set the label of the CD, and finally click the "Start Formatting" button to start formatting.
By burning in this way, an erasable CD becomes a "small hard disk" with hundreds of megabytes, and it is much more convenient to copy and save files.
