It's time to solve the mystery of cross-examination 1 (1).
The answer is: A Dream of Red Mansions and The Matrix (also known as The Matrix) both talk about illusion and awakening.
Robinson Crusoe Inception neither talks about illusion nor awakening.
Let me explain it in detail. I may explain less and less in the future.
Let's start with Robinson Crusoe, which is a novel and of course a fictional story. Although this is a story about living on a desert island, the desert island still belongs to the real world. It should be noted that fiction and illusion are not the same thing. Fictional stories are still images of the real world. It is actually the same as the real world. So it doesn't talk about hallucinations.
Then what is illusion? The real world and our real world are illusory. Awakening is waking up from the illusion of the real world. Awakening is to see the illusion of reality. If this work implies that the real world is illusory, it means that it is an illusion. This is my understanding of illusion and awakening. If you don't know this, then what we call awakening is different.
I won't go into this explanation of illusion and awakening here for the time being.
Look at Inception. This is a very creative and in-depth movie about dreams. However, according to Freud's interpretation of dreams, dreams are a special state of consciousness and form in which people's unsatisfied desires in the real world are suppressed into their subconscious and then disguised through dreams. In other words, dreams are still a kind of consciousness, only pointing to the subconscious and still pointing to the real world. Therefore, human dreams are not illusory, but still images of the real world. It says that the real world may be a "dream", which is a big step deeper than many works, but it is still subconscious and conscious, and does not really point to illusion and awakening. Therefore, this film doesn't talk about hallucinations or awakening.
Now let's look at the matrix.
This is a very profound film about human awakening. But it would be a pity if you only regard it as a science fiction film.
In view of the profound educational significance of this film, I want to say a little more. The story of this movie goes like this:
The Matrix: Neo (keanu reeves), a young hacker living in The Matrix, discovers that the seemingly normal real world actually seems to be controlled by some force, so Neo investigates this matter online. The captain of the human resistance organization, Morpheus (laurence fishburne), who lives in reality, has been looking for the legendary savior in the matrix, so under the guidance of Sany (Carrie-Anne Moss), a member of the human resistance organization, the two meet, and Neo returns to reality and escapes from the matrix under the guidance of Morpheus. Only then did he realize that he had been living in a virtual world.
Matrix 2: Reloading: In fact, the whole reloading is the process of Neo exploring the truth behind the mission, and he wants to find an acceptable reason for his behavior. After defeating Smith (Hugo Weaving) and rescuing Morpheus in the last episode, Neo, his close lover Trinity and other comrades-in-arms, returned to Zion base, the last human stronghold on earth, in the spaceship Nebuchadnezzar. There, they gathered with other freedom fighters. At this time, the mother system decided to "pre-empt", dispatched 250,000 troops of electronic squid and began to attack the Zion base. The weak base defense force is not enough to fight against such a powerful mecha corps. It seems that the last incense of mankind is in jeopardy. However, the road of "learning from the mother goddess" is doomed to be dangerous: in the process of finding the only "key maker" in the mother goddess system who knows the weaknesses of the system, Neo, Morpheus and Sany have encountered unprecedented difficulties.
The Matrix Revolutions: In the last episode of The Matrix series, it continued the story of The Matrix 2: Reloading, and revealed the ultimate fate of machines and human beings. Facing the tide of electronic squid, the human city is in danger, and Morpheus and Sany want to fight the invaders to the death. At this time, the "savior" Neo's body and mind were unexpectedly separated, and the latter fell into the "matrix" again. Morpheus and Trinity also had to go back to their "mother" and look for him with the guardian angel. Finally, in the negotiation with the machine, the machine promised that for the common interests of mankind and the machine, Neo would destroy Smith, and the machine would not destroy Zion. Mankind has ushered in a new peace.
Well, that's the whole story. In the end, everyone is happy.
Now, I want to ask a question, which is a new cross-examination of this film:
Question 3: Does the above description correctly interpret the film?
If you answer yes, or basically yes, you didn't really understand the film and didn't really see its information. Or, you didn't wake up yourself. Or your so-called awakening and my awakening are not the same thing.
Maybe I should ask another question:
Question 4: In this movie, did mankind really finally wake up? This question can be asked in another way: if human beings are awakened, will they eventually be partially awakened or fully awakened? If it is a partial awakening, who or several people are awakened? If it's all awakening, does it mean Neo, the spaceship and those people in Zion, or does it also include those people and machines in the virtual world?
Note that this question is not so easy to answer. Be very careful.
Now I want to provide another interpretation of this film. Note that in the above story description, two important figures are actually omitted, one is the creator and architect of the matrix; One is a prophet. These two people have appeared several times, and those plots are very important. These two men are indispensable. Now the new explanation is as follows:
1 Interpretation: The so-called matrix, that is, the virtual world, is actually the real world.
Interpretation 2: The savior of mankind is the following people: the architect, the mother he created, and even the policeman Smith. Then Neo, Captain Morpheus and the Prophet.
Interpretation 3: The following human beings must be destroyed or disappeared, otherwise people cannot be saved: Trinity.
Interpretation 4: Police Smith and Savior Neo are actually the same person.
Interpretation 5: The architect and the prophet are also the same person.
Interpretation 6: Human beings have not been saved or awakened in the end. In other words, Neo didn't save anyone but himself.
Of course, the above conclusions may surprise you. If I don't explain it briefly, you may protest. The whole rescue process is actually as follows:
1) First, the architect and the matrix he created. Pulling mankind from the so-called "real world" into the mother body is the first step to save mankind. The main purpose of this step is to let human beings see the illusion of the real world. It is also the most critical step. So the architect is really the most important person in the whole movie except Neo.
2) Captain Morpheus took a pill through Chiniot and brought Neo to the real world. Please pay attention to two important plots and metaphors: pills and desert. This is the first key clue of the film. )
3) Neo went to see the prophet, who told him to pay attention to the following words. Please pay attention to this plot, and be sure to know and understand what these words are. Pay attention to everything the prophet says. Is the second key clue of the whole film).
I shouldn't talk about it later, because I have actually given the answer after reading 3 above. If you still have questions, you can think about the following clues:
Clue 3) Trinity has been close to death several times. Why? Why did Trinity end up dying to save Neo?
Clue 4) What is the key of the key maker? What is this key about? Okay, let me be more clear. Pay attention to the plot of darkness and light. )
Clue 5) Neo is blind. What does this metaphor mean? This is actually a necessary prerequisite for his rescue and strength. Why?
Clue 6) How did Neo finally beat Smith? Or, how did you save yourself and wake up?
Indeed, The Matrix clearly illustrates all the necessary steps for a person to wake up. So far, no film has really done this.
If you don't agree with my interpretation above, or can't answer the questions in the above clues, then you have no real awakening, or your awakening and my awakening are not the same thing. If you want to continue to accept some instructions from this book, you can follow the clues given above and watch this movie again and again until you fully understand it.
Pay attention to the word metaphor I used above. Metaphor is basically used in awakening and divination. Matrix, Matrix, Pills, Desert, Dialogue of Prophets, Dialogue of Architects, Maker of Keys and Keys, Zion City, Death of the Trinity, Neo's Blindness and Battle with Agent Smith. All this is a metaphor. The meaning of metaphor is that it is not its superficial meaning, but its superficial meaning to represent other deeper meanings, that is, the meaning represented by truth. In other words, metaphor is the veil of truth. For example, matrix or matrix metaphor does not refer to the virtual world, but expresses the illusion of human real world through the virtual world. I won't explain other metaphors. You need to rely on these metaphors to cross the fog, find the real key and see the true face of the truth.
Maybe we spent too much time on this movie. Indeed, it's because this is the first and only film in history that profoundly reveals the awakening of mankind. Therefore, we cannot overestimate its importance. If you really pay attention to the theme of Awakening, you can miss all the movies except The Matrix. Of course, you should not stay in the plot of science fiction, but should interpret it correctly.
Well, it's time for us to talk about the novel A Dream of Red Mansions. This is the only great novel in the history of China that deeply talks about the theme of awakening.
Note that I didn't say this about A Dream of Red Mansions when I came back from Gao E in the 1940s. But from the first 80 chapters of Cao Xueqin, we can see that this is a work about the divine quality of awakening. Well, I'll give you four hints or clues:
Clue 1: The original name of this book is Stone.
Clue 2: There is a stone left in the goddess of mending heaven. There are four words on it: psychic Baoyu. Jia Baoyu was born with this jade.
Clue 3: This book is also called Dream of Red Mansions.
Clue 4: The fifth time of A Dream of Red Mansions, the police fantasy fairy.
Especially the fifth time, this is the most crucial time in the whole book. If you can't read it for the fifth time, you can't understand A Dream of Red Mansions at all.
Many masters are researching or arguing whether this book is called A Dream of Red Mansions or The Story of the Stone. Such people don't really understand this book. Because, this book must have these two names, and neither of them is indispensable: it must be "Stone" and "Dream of Red Mansions". Otherwise, we are not talking about the awakening of the knot, and the author will not be Cao Xueqin, let alone a work with divine quality.
But the above four clues are clear enough.
You may say, why just give some clues without really explaining them clearly? Note, as I mentioned earlier, this book only provides clues, and will not provide detailed notes and explanations. Even if it does, it is only a matter of time. Because fundamentally, this is your own business, not mine. Truth is not to let you see a result and accept a result and conclusion. You have to come to this conclusion by yourself, so you need to make some efforts, not just look at it. If you want to take the initiative to read according to the requirements of how to read a book, you must make this effort yourself. Otherwise, you will get nothing.
So the experience of reading this book is completely different from reading other books. When reading other books, the author is not here, so you can't ask questions on the spot. I am always here when I read this book. We are always talking, just like sitting together. But at this time, you can't be sleepy and you can't really read novels. We should play an extremely active role in exploring and answering these questions.
Well, speaking of which, if your answer is the same as mine above, then we are talking about awakening. Only in this way can we officially enter the Diamond Sutra. This is very important. We can only go through the first step before moving on to the next step.
However, if your answer is different from mine, we haven't reached an agreement on awakening and haven't synchronized to a state. If you continue to be interested in Awakening, you can follow the following clues.
If you are preparing for awakening, or have experienced initial awakening, but have not yet entered deep awakening, you can continue according to the following clues.
(1) primary reading
The following are some elementary reading materials, which mainly help you to embark on the journey of mental maturity and spiritual growth.
Clue 1: Scott's The Road Few People Walk
This is a very good psychological book about the journey of mental maturity. Its definition of love is different. It is recommended to watch it at least three times. Facing the current problems for the first time. The second time, you can look backwards and find problems that you have not found. Please pay attention to the original sin and laziness discussed in Chapter 4. The third time, face up to this newly discovered problem.
Note that this is a story about courage: the courage to face up to your own problems and life. Dare to embark on the journey of mental maturity and self-growth
Clue 2: Defoe's Robinson Crusoe
Reread this book and think about it: If you were stranded on a desert island, how would you spend it? Do you want to stay on a desert island all the time, or do you want to escape quickly?
This is still a story about courage: the courage to put yourself on a desert island.
Clue 3: Joyce's A Man's Pilgrimage
This is another story about courage: the courage to say goodbye to your past and your past self.
Clue 4: Ken Wilbur's grace and courage
This is also a story about courage: the courage to get along with yourself, illness, body, fear and even death.
Clue 5: The movie Good Will Hunting.
This is still a story about courage: the courage to accept your perfection and imperfection.
The reason why I keep giving clues about courage has far-reaching significance. As I said before, fundamentally speaking, truth will only be given to warriors. These books are only for your courage. On this basis, they can give you more.
(2) Intermediate reading
Clue 1: Walden Lake in Rousseau
This book helps you learn a noble lifestyle: being alone. Or get along with nature.
Clue 2: The movie "Revelation of War"
This is a film about the Vietnam War. You should pay special attention to the epic killing scenes accompanied by symphonies. This movie will make you rethink war, humanity and human destiny.
From this moment on, you need to pay attention to yourself and learn to pay attention to human beings.
Clue 3: Lu Xun's cry
This book can be read from two aspects: treat yourself as the object of Lu Xun's cry and see what information you can get from Lu Xun. Then imagine yourself as Lu Xun and see what new feelings you will have and what you will do.
This way also makes you pay attention to yourself and human beings. Attention, isn't waking up a person's business? Why do I always pay attention to human beings? Because, a person who wakes up at first, he can easily lead to nothingness and may have meaningless thoughts about the world and life. This step is actually very dangerous. When you start to pay attention to human beings, treat them as yourself and treat you as them, you will have new ideas. We will discuss this topic in detail in a later broadcast.
(3) Advanced reading
Clue 1: Ferry man in Claire Mcfall.
This is a story about the ferry of souls. But you should pay more attention to: soul, how to cross the wasteland and go home. See clearly the metaphor of wasteland and going home.
Clue 2: Ang Lee's film "The Fantasy Drifting of Youth School"
Pay attention to this movie, you should not just regard it as an adventure story of a teenager and a tiger. Like The Matrix, this movie uses a lot of metaphors, so you should regard it as a fable with multiple metaphors. Although I haven't started talking about awakening, I have really touched the illusion and reality of the world.
Clue 3: Jed McKenna: Enlightenment is not what you think, but spiritual self-struggle.
Note that these two books directly talk about enlightenment and awakening. This is an alternative work about awakening, but it is also a masterpiece. In fact, these two books have given me great inspiration and touch. For a person who pays attention to awakening, these are two must-read books, especially when life is confused or turning. For those who seek meditation, mindfulness, happiness and prosperity, they are even more necessary enlightenment books.
Besides the above bibliography, The Matrix and A Dream of Red Mansions are still your must-see. You can follow the clues I provided above.
In addition, I mentioned some outstanding people in the divine world, and you can also read and appreciate their works in large quantities. The deeper the better.
In short, once you embark on this road, you will not stop. You will find that you will be constantly guided by other directions to help you get to the place of awakening.
Now, we can finally read the Diamond Sutra.
Perhaps, you think my above discussion about awakening is long and wordy. But don't forget, what we are facing now is the arduous task of understanding the supreme classic of Diamond Sutra. If a person can't even take the first step of enlightenment, it means that he is not ready to really read the Diamond Sutra. Therefore, we should be honest, practical and modest. Facing the facts, one should be modest and honest.
Ok, answer question 2 first.
You should be able to answer the last question soon:
Everything is like a dream. If dew is like electricity, we should look at it this way.
Yes, hope is our real world. Remember the word dream, this is what we are talking about.
It does look a little simple. However, if you think this is the end, you are all wet. You know, as we pointed out earlier, the so-called illusion is the real world we are in now. In Buddhist scriptures, everything in the real world is called "phase". Through this guide and our discussion above, you can find more places to talk about illusion in the Diamond Sutra.
At this point, you can continue this exercise, and then we will reveal it in the next article.
