1September, 1993, the college officially enrolled the first batch of second-degree students and master students majoring in intellectual property, and began to recruit doctoral students from 1999. At present, there are 8 doctoral students, 32 master students and 62 second bachelor degree students. 1993- 1995, the second degree enrollment is only for undergraduate students of Peking University, and after 1996, it is for national undergraduate graduates. Candidates' first major is limited to science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics and foreign languages. The second degree lasts for two years and the courses are divided into two categories. The first category is compulsory courses, including basic theory of law, constitutional law, civil law, civil procedure law, criminal law, criminal procedure law, administrative law, economic law, international law, private international law, copyright law, trademark law, patent literature retrieval, technology contract law, anti-unfair competition law, legal protection of computer technology, science and technology law, professional English and other foundations. The second category is elective courses, including enterprise law and company law, financial law and tax law, financial law and banking law, international technology transfer, international investment law, international trade law and so on. After the students complete the course as required, they will be awarded the second bachelor of law degree. Master's degree and doctor's degree programs are set up to train high-level intellectual property professionals in China. The students are undergraduate and master graduates respectively.
At present, many graduates have taken up their jobs, including 75 second degree graduates/kloc-0 and 70 master degree graduates. They are distributed in legislative, administrative, judicial and other state organs, academic institutions such as schools and research institutes, and economic units such as companies and enterprises, and some of them have become the backbone of intellectual property-related departments and industries in China.
