Variety types and origins
It is mainly produced in the four autonomous prefectures of Dehong, Xishuangbanna, Honghe and Wenshan in Yunnan Province and the two regions of Lincang and Simao.
1 Main characteristics: short body, compact feathers, well-proportioned body, almost boat-shaped, lively, clever, aggressive, able to fly and run well. 2 Breed conservation methods: A camellia chicken breeding farm was established in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province to undertake the task of breeding, and a breeding area was established. The national-level local chicken breed gene bank (Jiangsu) introduced the breed in 1998 for off-site protection.
Production performance
