loquat, which was liberated in Changtai Town, Chengxiang District, is one of the four famous fruits in Putian. Its fruit is shaped like an ancient clock, with yellow skin and red inside, crisp pulp and sweet juice. The largest single fruit weighs 172 grams, ranking first in the world. On April 25th, 1999, May 1th, 2 and April 3th, 21, three press conferences and trade fairs of Fujian Putian (Changtai) Loquat Festival were held in Yangbian Village, Changtai Town, Beijing and Singapore respectively. From 22 to 27, the sixth Fujian Putian Loquat Festival and Loquat Promotion Conference were held in Chongqing, Shanghai, Xi 'an, Jinan, Harbin and Urumqi respectively. The loquat in Changtai Town was listed as the "Southern Subtropical Famous Crops Base" and awarded as the "First Loquat Township in China" by the Ministry of Agriculture for two consecutive times (June 1996 and February 22).
