The Trademark Office is affiliated to the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and is in charge of national trademark registration and management. It is responsible for the registration of commodity trademarks, service marks, collective trademarks, certification marks and other trademarks, and handles trademark objection adjudication and registration. Responsible for matters related to trademark changes, transfers, renewals, renewals, cancellations, etc., guide, coordinate, and organize local industrial and commercial administrative agencies to investigate and handle cases of trademark infringement and counterfeiting, identify and protect well-known trademarks in accordance with the law, supervise and manage trademark agencies, and study and draft trademark registrations and management rules and regulations and specific measures and methods, organize the specific implementation of international trademark treaties and agreements in China, and undertake related work on international exchanges and cooperation on trademarks.
The Trademark Office consists of the General Division, the Application Acceptance Division, the First Examination Division, the Second Examination Division, the Third Examination Division, the Fourth Examination Division, the Fifth Examination Division, the International Registration Office, the First Opposition Determination Division, and the Second Opposition Determination Division. , Trademark Archives Department, Change and Renewal Department, Legal Affairs Department, Case Guidance Department, Supervision and Management Department, Computer System Management Department and other 16 functional departments, with a staff of 245 people. There are currently 210 staff members, including 144 examiners.
After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, my country’s trademark registration work was successively managed by the Central Bureau of Private Enterprise and the Central Administration for Industry and Commerce.
