The process of applying for a trademark is about one year, including trademark inquiry, application submission, application acceptance, substantive examination, registration announcement, registration approval and certification. It takes 9 months for the Trademark Office to review the application documents and 3 months for the preliminary examination of the announcement. If the procedure is rejected or opposed, it will take about half a year.

Article 28 of the Trademark Law The Trademark Office shall, within nine months from the date of receiving the application documents for trademark registration, complete the examination of the trademark applied for registration, and if it meets the relevant provisions of this Law, conduct a preliminary examination and make an announcement. Article 30 of the Trademark Law Where a trademark applied for registration does not conform to the relevant provisions of this Law or is identical with or similar to a trademark that has been registered or preliminarily approved by others on the same kind of goods or similar goods, the Trademark Office shall reject the application and will not make an announcement.
