What are the quality standards of lubricating oil?
Every kind of lubricating oil has a series of quality standards, and manufacturers control and produce according to these indicators. Only after passing the inspection can it be put on the market.

There are many kinds of lubricants with different uses, and there are two indexes. One is the * * * general index, which is required by all or most lubricating oil products, although the specific data are different; The other is that because of different uses, each variety has its own index.

The first category can be divided into three categories:

1. Physical and chemical indicators

It is also the minimum requirement to express the internal quality of products and the basic physical and chemical properties of lubricating oil. Generally, it is time-saving and labor-saving to measure with glass instruments in the laboratory by standard methods, such as viscosity and flash point, which are usually measured every time in production. In recent years, many automatic measuring instruments for physical and chemical indexes have appeared, which not only saves manpower and improves the measuring speed, but also reduces the manual measuring error and improves the accuracy.

2. Performance indicators

These projects also have standard methods, but the testing equipment is more complicated and expensive, which consumes more time and manpower than rational indicators, and also has certain requirements for the quality of operators. Some crude oil lubricant manufacturers are also unable to configure them. Besides testing product quality, it can also be used for the development of some new products. It is not necessary to make every batch of products in production, but to measure them again when raw materials, processes and formulas change, as a guarantee project.

3. Simulated bench test

The equipment used in this test is a special standard testing machine or a representative engine in actual use, and its test conditions simulate the typical working conditions in actual use, so its test results can best reflect the performance of lubricating oil in actual use and the evaluation of lubricating oil quality is also the most convincing. There are standard test methods for simulation bench test, which consume a lot of manpower, material resources and time, and cannot be done without a certain scale of enterprises or financial resources.
