Generally, diesel generator sets are mainly divided into four parts: diesel engine, generator, control system, and accessories.
1. Diesel engine
The diesel engine is the power output part of the entire unit, accounting for 70% of the cost of the diesel generator set. It is the favorite part of some unscrupulous manufacturers to cheat.
1.1 Counterfeit engines
Currently, almost all well-known diesel engines on the market have imitation manufacturers. Some manufacturers use these imitation engines with the same appearance to pretend to be famous brands, using fake nameplates and genuine ones. Numbering, printing fake factory data and other means to make the cards look like the real ones can achieve the purpose of significantly reducing costs. It is difficult for non-professionals to distinguish deck machines.
1.2 Refurbished old phones
Every brand has refurbished old phones, and it may be difficult for non-professionals to tell the difference.
However, there are still some flaws in the refurbished machine, such as the paint, especially the paint in the dead corners, which is difficult to be consistent with the original one.
1.3 Use similar factory names to confuse the public
These manufacturers are opportunistic and do not dare to make decks or refurbishments, so they use the factory name and the name of the diesel engine to make a name for themselves. To confuse the situation with the name of the diesel engine.
For example, some manufacturers use pinyin or homophones or even use the same words to register their brands, such as: Cummins Generator Company, KMS Generator, etc., which actually have nothing to do with Cummins engines. The name XX Generator Co., Ltd. is just registered and has nothing to do with the "Cummins" trademark. The generator sets purchased by these manufacturers with various off-brand diesel engines are all called XX Cummins generator sets to the outside world.
1.4 Small horses and big carts
Confusing the relationship between KVA and KW. Treat KVA as KW to exaggerate the power and sell it to customers. In fact, KVA is the apparent power and KW is the effective power. The relationship between them is 1KVA=0.8KW. Imported units generally use KVA to express the power unit, while domestic electrical equipment is generally expressed in KW, so when calculating power, KVA should be converted into KW at a 20% discount.
We do not talk about the relationship between long-line (rated) power and standby power. We only talk about "power" and sell the standby power to customers as long-line power. Effectively, reserve power = 1.1x long line (rated) power. Moreover, the backup power can only be used for 1 hour out of 12 hours of continuous operation.
2. Generator part
The function of the generator is to convert the power of the diesel engine into electrical energy, which is directly related to the quality and stability of the output power.
2.1 Stator coil
The stator coil originally used all-copper wire, but with the improvement of wire-making technology, copper-clad aluminum core wire appeared. Different from copper-plated aluminum wire, copper-clad aluminum core wire is made of copper-clad aluminum using a special mold during wire drawing, and the copper layer is much thicker than plated copper. There is not much difference in performance when the generator stator coil uses copper-clad aluminum core wire, but its service life is much shorter than that of the all-copper wire stator coil.
2.2 Excitation mode
The generator excitation mode is divided into phase compound excitation type and brushless self-excitation type. Brushless self-excited generators have become mainstream due to their advantages of stable excitation and simple maintenance. However, some manufacturers still configure phase compound-excited generators in generator sets below 300KW due to cost considerations.
3. Control system
Ordinary standard units require manual switching, and it usually takes 10 to 30 minutes from the power outage to the start of the diesel generator set to send power.
The automatic control of diesel generator sets is divided into semi-automatic and fully automatic unattended types. The semi-automatic system automatically starts the generator when there is a power outage and automatically stops when the power comes in, which saves the time of starting and stopping, but it still requires manual switching. The fully automatic unattended control panel produced by Zhengchi Power is equipped with an ATS dual power switch, which directly and automatically detects the mains signal, automatically switches, and simultaneously controls the automatic start and stop of the generator set, realizing fully automatic unattended operation and switching time 3-7 seconds adjustable.
Hospitals, military, firefighting and other places that require timely power transmission must be equipped with fully automatic control panels.
4. Accessories
The standard accessories of regular diesel generator sets include radiator tanks, fuel tanks, chassis, batteries, battery wires, mufflers, shock pads, air filters, It consists of diesel filter, oil filter, bellows, connecting flange and oil pipe. There are also many accessories that can be faked.
