How to cultivate autumn leaves and crabapple flowers

1. Water and fertilization. The pot soil should be kept moist when watering. In dry and mid-summer weather, it is also necessary to spray water on the leaves and ground to improve air humidity and promote growth. Avoid accumulation of water and rain in the pot, otherwise the roots will easily rot. In winter, the pot soil should be slightly dry. Spray the leaves and environment with clean water every 7 days to increase humidity and clean the leaves. During the growth period, apply pancake fertilizer and water once for about 10 days; apply quick-acting phosphate fertilizer during the budding period. When fertilizing, do not splash the fertilizer solution on the leaves; fertilization is not suitable during the flowering period, winter and summer.

2. Light and temperature. The suitable temperature for the growth of Bamboo Begonia is 18~20℃, an environment with good ventilation and scattered light. Measures such as shading, ventilation, and water spraying should be taken during high-temperature seasons; in winter, it is best to keep the room temperature above 10°C and place it in a sunny place. When raising at home, it should be placed outdoors under scattered light 1 to 2 times a week during the growing season, and in a sheltered place with sufficient sunlight in winter.

3. Bundle and turn over the basin. Since the Bamboo Begonia plant is relatively tall, thin bamboo and other materials need to be used to support the branches to prevent lodging. At the same time, it is necessary to repot, change soil, prune branches, and cut off weak branches, overlapping branches and residual roots every spring. For plants that have been blooming for 2-3 years and are too tall, cut them back to only 6-10cm of stems and allow them to regrow new shoots.

4. Note:

(1) Don’t water potted crabapple flowers too much every day. Just keep the pot soil moist, and the water should not be too wet to prevent the roots from entering. Water rot.

(2) Always turn the flower pot toward the direction of the sun, and do not let its growth direction be consistent with the direction of the sun to avoid partial crowning.

(3) It is not suitable to fertilize during the flowering period, winter and summer. At other times, a small amount of compound fertilizer can be buried in the pot. To prevent fertilizer damage, it is not easy to over-fertilize.
