What problems should I pay attention to when applying for trademark registration with my surname?
According to the standards of trademark registration review in China, if a trademark is only composed of common surnames and common fonts, and it is designated for daily necessities or daily services, its surnames should not be monopolized by one company, which is regarded as lacking in distinctive features and having no trademark recognition function.

However, this restriction does not apply to trademarks of surnames expressed in special fonts, or designated for non-daily necessities and non-daily services.

Application procedure: 1. Ask about the trademark first. If there is no identical or similar trademark in advance, you can make application documents and submit the application;

2. About 3 months after the application is submitted, the Trademark Office will send you an application acceptance notice (this period is called the formal examination stage).

3. After the formal review is completed, it will enter the substantive review stage, which will take about 9 months.

4. Those who pass the substantive examination shall enter the announcement procedure (this period is 3 months, also called the objection period);

5. When the announcement expires, no one raises any objection. You can get the registration certificate. The time for successful registration above is generally around 14 months.
