Historical development:

The origin of Want Want Group can be traced back to Yilan Food Industry Co., Ltd. located in Luodong Town, Yilan County, Taiwan. The company was founded in 1962, engaged in the OEM and export of canned food, but it was run by a friend of Cai Yanming's father Cai Ashi. In 1976, Cai Ashi took over the management right. Cai Yanming, who was only 2 years old and only graduated from junior high school, volunteered to participate in the operation of the company. The next year (1977), Cai Yanming took over the management right as the general manager.

However, Cai Yanming, which lacked experience and ability, soon suffered a big loss. The company's "shredded squid with wave flavor" caused the company to lose more than NT$ 1 million. In 1979, we started to explore the Taiwan Province market again with our own brand "Wangzai".

Later, because I was optimistic about the lucrative Japanese rice fruit, I went to the Japanese rice fruit factory to make fruit by cutting it. Later, I obtained the technical authorization of Iwate Tomb and launched "Wangwang Xianbei", which was a great success. The advertising effectively combined with Taiwan Province's folk custom of worship, and its market share in Taiwan Province was as high as 95%, forcing the old food manufacturers to unify and Yimei to withdraw from the competition one after another. In 1983, the trademark was named "Want Want".
