How to distinguish the front and back of various fabrics

1. Distinguish between the front and back sides of satin fabric: the front side is tight, flat, smooth, and shiny; the back side has less obvious lines and less luster. You can also tell the front and back from the edge of the fabric. Under normal circumstances, the front side is flatter than the back side, and the selvage edge on the back side is curled inwards. Fabrics woven with shuttleless looms have a flat edge on the front, and the wool of the weft yarn ends can be seen on the back edge.

2. For fabrics with codes or trademarks printed on the edge, the fonts on the front are clear and the back is blurry, and the fonts are written backwards. Some fabrics have trademarks on them that are easy to identify, and the side with the trademark is the front. Most double-width woolen fabrics are folded in half before leaving the factory, with the inner layer being the front side and the outer layer being the reverse side.

3. Plain weave distinguishes the front and back sides: such as plain cloth, bleached cloth, poplin, etc.: its front side is relatively smooth and smooth, with a uniform and bright color.

4. Twill weave distinguishes the front and back sides: single-sided twill, the front lines are obvious and clear, but the reverse side is blurred; double-sided twill, the front and back lines are obvious, full and clear. It is difficult to distinguish and requires repeated comparisons to choose the smoother side as the front. The twill of the thread twill is diagonal from the lower left to the upper right, which is the upper E surface, and the inclination angle of the grain is 45-65; the twill of the yarn twill is the front side, which is diagonal from the lower right to the upper left, and the bevel angle is 65-73.

Extended information:

From the weaving method, it can be divided into two categories: woven fabrics and knitted fabrics. From the processing technology, it can be divided into: gray cloth, bleached cloth, dyed cloth, printed cloth, yarn-dyed cloth, mixed craft cloth (such as printing on yarn-dyed cloth, composite cloth, flocking cloth, imitation fur cloth) and so on. It can also be divided into raw materials: cotton cloth, chemical fiber cloth, linen cloth, woolen cloth, silk, and blended fabrics, etc.

Fabrics include chemical fiber carpets, non-woven wall coverings, linen, nylon cloth, colored tape, flannel and other fabrics. Fabric plays a considerable role in decorative displays and is often the main force that cannot be ignored in the entire sales space. Extensive use of fabrics for wall coverings, partitions, and background treatments can also form a good commercial space display style.
