First of all, the so-called "work smell" refers to a unique temperament or atmosphere that gradually forms in the work environment. Different people have different understandings. Some people may think it is the sense of responsibility and tension brought by work, while some people may think it is the fatigue and boredom brought by work.
Personally, I don’t particularly feel that I have a “work smell”. However, I can also imagine that some people may gradually develop a unique professional temperament during long-term work, which may include professionalism, rigor, and even fashion.
The following is my analysis of "work smell" from four aspects:
1. The impact of the working environment: The working environment will have a certain impact on the individual's temperament. For example, people who work in the catering industry may have the smell of oil smoke, while people who work in the IT industry may have the special smell of computers. These smells may become a basis for people to judge a person's occupation.
2. The impact of work on personal habits: Long-term work will change our living habits and attitudes. For example, people who work in sales may pay more attention to appearance and image because they need to face customers and project the company's image. This habit may gradually affect their personal temperament.
3. The impact of occupational stress: In a high-pressure working environment, people may become more nervous and exhausted. This state may affect their temperament and image. For example, people who often work overtime may appear tired and anxious, which may become a "work smell" in them.
4. Management of personal self-image: Some people may avoid "work smell" through self-management and shaping their own image. For example, they may pay attention to their clothing, appearance, speech and behavior to maintain their unique temperament and image.
To sum up, "work smell" is a possible phenomenon, but not everyone will feel this smell on their body. People can avoid "office smell" by self-management and shaping their own image, or turn it into a unique professional temperament.
