What are the characteristics of gravure printing?
Gravure printing is short for gravure printing. This is a plate-making technology that engraves images from the surface. It first appeared in Europe in the15th century. It engraves concave graphics and text on the metal plate by hand, inking it when printing, and removing the ink on the layout, so that only the ink left in the concave part is transferred to the paper. Later, photographic etching intaglio (formerly known as shadow writing plate), mechanical engraving intaglio (including engraving with electronic engraving machine), laser engraving intaglio and electron beam engraving intaglio were developed. To print a gravure printing plate, first coat the surface with ink, and then wipe the ink off the surface with a taletam cloth or newspaper, leaving only the concave part. Cover the upper part of the printing plate with wet paper, press the printing plate and paper by the printing machine, and transfer the ink from the concave part of the printing plate to the paper.

Hand-carved intaglio printing has a good anti-counterfeiting effect, and secret anti-counterfeiting is a major aspect of commodity anti-counterfeiting, which is realized through trademarks, and hand-carved intaglio printing provides the necessary means for it. Hand-carved intaglio printing is easy to implement secret anti-counterfeiting in plate making, and the depth of concave points during engraving determines the shade of printed matter. Imitators can easily imitate the size of pictures and texts and the thickness of lines, but it is difficult to imitate printed matter with the same shade (that is, the same deep ink pit). This is the main reason why intaglio must be used in securities for a long time. The less the number of prints, the better the anti-counterfeiting effect. Due to the long period and high cost of hand-carved intaglio, the price of printed products is higher when the number of prints is small. The purpose of counterfeiters is mainly to pursue economic interests. When there is no profit or little profit, they are unwilling to take any risks. Therefore, it can be said that the anti-counterfeiting effect of small batch trademark gravure printing may be better than that of large batch gravure printing.
