Xue Rengui lived in the two dynasties of Emperor Taizong and Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty. He had outstanding military exploits and a very high title. It is recorded in history books that he is indeed a real person. However, there is no record of Xue Pinggui in history. It is said that he is a made-up character in the folk opera "Wujiapo".
