Shanxi Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau launched supervision and spot checks on electric bicycles in the third quarter. This time, 47 batches of electric bicycles were supervised and randomly inspected, and 19 batches were qualified, with a random inspection pass rate of 40%. The electric bicycles inspected this time involved 46 manufacturing companies in 11 provinces and cities including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Beijing. The results of the spot inspection were not optimistic. The main problems:
First, the maximum speed exceeds the upper limit. The maximum speed of some electric bicycles exceeds the speed limit of no more than 20km/h stipulated in the national mandatory standards, and most electric bicycles also have various types of speed regulating devices hidden. As a special bicycle, electric bicycles are driven on non-motor vehicle lanes. Excessive speed will pose a certain threat to the safety of other non-motor vehicles.
Second, the weight exceeds the standard. In this spot check, the weight of 60% of electric bicycles exceeded the national limit of no more than 40kg. Electric bicycles are an extension of bicycles. They must maintain the characteristics of the original bicycles and prevent electric bicycles from developing into motorcycles.
Third, the logo does not match the actual product. During this random inspection, we found that some bicycles were clearly labeled as electric bicycles, but did not have flywheels and corresponding devices for riding. They were actually light motorcycles worthy of the name.
Fourth, the pedal driving ability does not meet the requirements. National standards stipulate that the pedaling ability of electric bicycles is not less than 7 kilometers in 30 minutes. However, due to the tendency of electric bicycles to become motorcycles, the wheel diameter is getting smaller and smaller, and the cranks are getting shorter and shorter, which makes the pedaling ability of some electric bicycles Doesn't meet the requirements. In this spot check, 13.3% of the vehicles did not meet the requirements for pedal driving ability.
Fifth, some electric bicycles do not have under-voltage and over-current protection functions. Under-voltage and over-current protection functions are functions to prevent battery over-discharge and electrical system overload. If the undervoltage value is too low, the battery will be deeply discharged and affect the battery life. If the overcurrent value is too large, it will have a direct impact on the reliability and working life of the motor battery and controller as well as the system. In this spot check, 46.6% did not set up undervoltage and overcurrent protection devices.
Sixth, signs and symbols are incomplete. Most electric bicycles do not have product nameplates. They only have trademarks on the bicycles, without factory names, addresses, specifications and models. The main reason for the above problems is that some electric bicycle manufacturers have weak awareness of quality and road traffic safety. Most of the unqualified products are caused by enterprises not organizing production according to national mandatory standards and lax inspection and control. Some small enterprises lack the overall design and quality control and inspection capabilities for products, and purchase low-end accessories for assembly, resulting in poor product quality. The quality and safety of electric bicycles are directly related to personal safety. When purchasing electric bicycles, users should not only pay attention to the appearance quality of the product, but also pay attention to the reliability and safety of the product.
