Henan Road starts from Taiping Road in the south and ends at Jinan Road in the north, which is completely parallel to Zhongshan Road and belongs to two districts like Zhongshan Road. The German colonial regime separated Qingdao, where Europeans lived, from Bao Dao, where China people lived, with Dexian Road and Baoding Road as the boundaries. Therefore, the southern section was originally named Hamburg Street after the famous German city Hamburg, and it was called Kamiyama Town during the Japanese occupation. When the northern section was originally called Henan Street, China recovered Qingdao, and the whole street was called Henan Road.

"Caigenxiang" is the largest vegetarian restaurant in Qingdao. Because of its light taste and clean food, it is a place frequented by Buddhist believers and ordinary customers. Master Hongyi (Li Shutong) came to Qingdao Zhanshan Temple to talk about "Dharma". Zhenyizhai is a Muslim restaurant on Henan Road, with two floors. 1929 Ma Fuxiang, the mayor of Qingdao, is a Hui nationality. He often holds banquets here, which is well-known and very lively. But it was closed during the occupation.

Houdefu is a Henan cuisine restaurant. All major cities in China have Houdefu, and Qingdao's shop is just on Henan Road, with specialties such as "Wa Yu". It is said that Liang Shiqiu is one of the shareholders. He often entertains friends in Houdefu, Hu Shi comes to Qingdao, and Liang Shiqiu entertains him here.

Hotels on Henan Road can be divided into Chinese and Japanese styles. Kazuo Hotel has Japanese custom tatami. China Hotel includes Dachang Hotel, Huabei Hotel and Gaosheng Station, all of which are traditional inn hotels in China. Qingdao's dim sum industry also has Chinese style and harmonious style. The famous pastry shop in China is Wan Fulin, headquartered in Henan Road, with nearly 200 employees, ranking first in the city. For a long time, Qingdao people gave gifts. If they give cakes, Wan Fulin's snacks are the first choice. If they don't give Wan Fulin, it seems not good enough. The wrapping paper of Wanfulin Dim Sum is gold-plated on a red background, and an artistic "blessing" is on a trademark or bat pattern, symbolizing "blessing". According to records, in 1947, Wanfulin sold more than 70,000 kilograms of moon cakes in the Mid-Autumn Festival alone, which was a great sales volume at that time.

There is a Yun Ge bookstore in Wanfu Linbei, which is small in scale, but very distinctive. Mainly engaged in popular novels, including martial arts, romance and detective.

The junction of Old Qingdao District and Baodao District on Henan Road has long been an open space (and still is). This used to be the bus terminal in Qingdao, and it was also the coach terminal in Qingdao. From here, you can go to Hui Quan and Dongzhen.
