The factory was formerly known as Yunbei Electrical and Telecommunications Equipment Factory, which mainly produces relays, transformers and instruments, and tube amplifiers. In October 1966, it was renamed Shanghai Radio Factory 18. In the same year, the all-transistor amplifier was successfully developed. In October 1970, the factory moved from No. 486 Zhejiang Middle Road to the former Shanghai Radio Industrial School site at No. 322 Lingling Road.
