Is it female? In the early Southern and Northern Dynasties, most of the Feitian figures were actually male. It was only in the late Southern and Northern Dynasties that female figures began to appear that were neither male nor female, as well as male and female figures.
The origin of Feitian:
1. In 1958, in order to adapt to the needs of the international market, Moutai Distillery used the pattern of two flying fairies holding gold cups as the "Feitian" trademark. It replaced the previously used "Jinlun" trademark and was exclusively used for Moutai liquor sold overseas. The "Feitian" trademark became very popular as soon as it came out, and it is still one of the most prominent logos of Moutai to this day.
2. The flying fairy on the Moutai bottle comes from the flying fairy on the Dunhuang murals. In terms of origin and function, Apsara is not a god, but a composite of Gandharva and Kinnara. Gandharva is the transliteration of Indian Sanskrit, and the free translation is the God of Music. Because he exudes fragrance all over his body, he is also called the God of Fragrance. Kinnara is the transliteration of ancient Indian Sanskrit, and the free translation is the God of Songs.
3. Gandharva and Kinnara were originally the gods of entertainment, singing and dancing in ancient Indian mythology and Brahmanism. Myths and legends say that one of them is good at singing and the other is good at dancing. They are inseparable and harmonious. They are a loving couple.
4. Later, it was absorbed by Buddhism. With the development needs of Buddhist theory, artistic aesthetics and artistic creation, the original ferocious appearance of Horse Head Man Peak gradually evolved into beautiful features, pretty eyes, pretty body, dancing gracefully, The heavenly beings flying in the sky have become immortals.
5. Among the nearly 500 caves in the Mogao Grottoes, more than 270 caves are painted with flying apsaras, with a total of more than 4,500 figures. Their images are full of vitality and symbolize beauty, harmony and auspiciousness. From this, Dunhuang Feitian has become synonymous with beauty. Dunhuang Feitian has wide international popularity and can fully represent the symbols of Chinese elements.
