Wanglaoji’s corporate history

Wanglaoji is a famous herbal tea in China. It was created by Wang Zebang (real name Aji) during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty (about 1830). After liberation in 1949, Wanglaoji United Pharmaceutical Factory was established.

In 1995, GPHL leased the Wanglaoji brand to Hong Kong Jiaduobao for a 20-year lease. In April 2011, GPHL submitted an arbitration application for the "Wong Lo Kat trademark"; on May 11, 2012, GPHL won the lawsuit and took back the Wong Lao Kat brand. On May 27, 2012, Jiaduobao claimed that it was dissatisfied with the previous ruling and applied to the court to revoke the above ruling.
