Taiwan Province AUO Optoelectronic OEM-BenQ LCD.
Youpai: Some CRTs are produced by Suzhou Philips and BenQ, others by Shengbao, and LCD by Shenda and Compal.
At present, the Japanese LCD brands on the market are basically OEM in mainland China. Sharp handed over the general LCD to TPV ODM for production, and Sony and Samsung set up a joint venture LCD panel factory. The LCD is mainly OEM by Nanjing LG Tongchuang.
■TPV AOC
We are the first to talk about AOC TPV, because TPV is the first monitor manufacturer in the world. When it comes to monitor manufacturing, we must start with TPV.
TPV Technology Group is listed in Hong Kong. The group has Fuqing General Factory, Beijing Factory and Wuhan Factory. The largest Fuqing General Factory mainly produces LCD monitors and televisions. In addition, it also has a joint venture panel assembly plant with Chunghwa Picture Tube. Wuhan factory mainly produces OEM monitors. The monitors of HP brand machines we usually see are basically produced in Wuhan, and the products of Wuhan factory are exported, which is rarely seen in China. In addition, the Wuhan factory also has a panel assembly production line jointly built by TPV and Hanyu Finance.
TPV Beijing factory, located in Jiuxianqiao, is a joint venture between TPV and BOE, named TPV Oriental. Because BOE's panel factory is located in Yizhuang, Beijing, the distance between them is very close. It is reported that 40% of BOE's panel production capacity is consumed by TPV, so there is a close relationship between them. In addition, TPV rented a factory in China, which is located in Dongguan. The L 170, which went on the market some time ago, is the product here, and its OEM model is one of Haier's "eye-moistening" monitors commonly seen by Shandong friends.
After receiving Philips computer monitors and some flat-panel TV services last year, TPV also has a factory in Suzhou, which mainly produces TV products and Philips monitors.
Abroad, TPV has a factory in Manaus Export Processing Zone of Amazon River in Brazil, and its products are only supplied to Brazil. In addition, TPV has two foundries in Poland and Czech Republic, mainly supplying Europe.
Generally speaking, the production base of TPV is in China, and foreign factories are just assembly plants set up to deal with tariffs.
■ Samsung Electronics
Samsung monitors come from the same place: Shui Yuan, South Korea and Tianjin, China.
The number of monitors produced by water is limited, and they are hardly sold in China.
The Samsung monitors we usually see the most are made in Tianjin. At present, many display production bases are in the south, but Samsung is in Tianjin in the north. There are several reasons for this:
First: Tianjin is a flood and drought wharf with convenient transportation and close to Beijing, but the production cost is not high.
Second: Tianjin is close to Korea, and the transportation of raw materials such as panels is convenient.
Third: Koreans are used to being close to South Korea when opening factories, which is a national characteristic. Many Korean factories prefer to be located in provinces such as Tianjin, Jilin and Shandong, rather than just going to the south.
■ Philips
Philips, let's not talk about it. At present, the manufacture of his monitor and some TV sets has been handed over to TPV, and Philips only carries out research and development and design. The Philips brand we see is nominally Dutch, but in fact the display part is basically operated by Taiwan Province Province. Philips also has a factory in Taiwan Province province. Some time ago, I often saw Philips OEM products in Taiwan Province Province, but now it seems that they are gone.
■LG Electronics
The common LG monitor manufacturer is located in Nanjing, named "LG Tongchuang", and it is also an established manufacturer. LG Tongchuang not only produces its own monitors, but also produces some high-end products. For example, many familiar Apple monitors are produced by LG Tongchuang.
In addition to LG Tongchuang in Nanjing, LG also has a factory in Shenyang, but its products are televisions, not monitors.
■ BenQ BenQ
BenQ's production plant and AUO are both in Suzhou. The advantages of this layout are obvious. AUO panels can be sent directly to BenQ for assembly after leaving the factory, which saves a lot of transportation costs.
BenQ's factory output is relatively large in the industry. Besides BenQ, who produces his own brand, he also works for other brands. For example, many Dell advanced monitors we usually see, such as the 2007FP, are OEM products in BenQ. Besides monitors, BenQ also produces LCD TVs and other products in Suzhou.
Some time ago, there were rumors that BenQ wanted to sell the monitor factory, but Bian Xiao thought it was unlikely. Because BenQ has determined the idea of "panel as the key link", anyone with LCD panel can do it, such as mobile phone, notebook computer, desktop computer and so on. In other words, it takes AUO as the core and fully relies on the technical strength of AUO in BenQ. BenQ himself called it the "5C strategy". As an important link, display production plays an important role in establishing BenQ's manufacturing position and digestive panel production capacity, and BenQ will not give up easily. To say the least, even if BenQ really wants to sell the factory, no one may be willing to take over! Besides, AUO has not done so yet.
■ViewSoinc Youpai
The situation of Youpai is quite special. He is engaged in brand marketing. To put it bluntly, like Nike, he doesn't have his own factory, and all products rely on OEM. In the past, it seemed impossible to run a brand without your own factory. Many people think that it is not advisable to engage in brand marketing in the IT industry, but Youpai has just started and done a good job. Later, many people learned the way of excellent schools and failed. The success of Youpai depends on its own continuous efforts and enterprising spirit, as well as on the weather, geographical location and people.
The origin of the monitor is very complicated, and the nameplate behind it all says a place in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, so that outsiders rarely know the real origin of the monitor. But as far as we know, the excellent VG920 and VG720 are both OEMs of AOC, and there are also products from CTX, Miqi and other manufacturers.
The quality of OEM products generally depends on the customer's meaning, whether it is done well or not, and how much it costs. There is no problem with the quality of the products of Youpai. It definitely belongs to the category of "well done".
■ Great Wall Great Wall
The Great Wall is the only pure mainland brand monitor. Before 2000, the old DIY was familiar with the Great Wall monitor, because at that time, the products of foreign brands were expensive and the domestic quality was too poor, that is, the Great Wall monitor was inexpensive. Later, the Great Wall almost withdrew from the retail field, specializing in the industrial market, and made good use of the status and good quality of state-owned enterprises, and achieved quite good results in the military and education fields.
At present, Great Wall Display has returned to the retail market in deus ex. Great Wall Display has its own factory, headquartered in Shenzhen. This factory has a large production capacity. In addition to meeting the needs of the Great Wall, we are also engaged in OEM business. In addition, it is said that the second phase of the Great Wall display production base will start in the near future, and the production capacity will gradually increase.
In addition to monitors, Great Wall has also started the TV manufacturing business, but all the products are sold outside, and none are sold at home. It is said that the reason is that the "Great Wall" brand has been registered by a wireless power plant in Tianjin (the name is very old), and it was more than 30 years ago. It is not worth the loss to promote the second brand now.
■ Sony Sony
Sony's monitors are basically produced by AOC and LG Tongchuang. Among them, AOC produces various models of HS series, and the rest are produced by LG Tongchuang.
As far as we know, Sony's quality requirements are very strict, which we felt when evaluating Sony series monitors, especially the shell technology, which is worse than AOC and LG's own products!
■ Dell Computer
As we all know, Dell computers are manufactured by OEM.
As for Dell monitors, most of the small-screen products are manufactured by AOC, and the large-screen products are manufactured by BenQ. Of course, the above two companies only account for a part of Dell's production, and other manufacturers also have them. The origin of Dell monitor can be seen from the outer packaging of the monitor, which is a rare special case in OEM products.
Dell monitors are of good quality and strict management.
■ Sharp Sharp Sharp
Sharp has its own factory, but it mainly produces LCD TVs, and many display products are branded goods. As far as we know, most of them are produced by AOC.
I have seen Sharp monitors in made in taiwan before, but the number is very small.
■NEC Japan electric appliance
NEC used to be the "boss" in the CRT era, and then it disappeared. NEC in the LCD era is mainly oriented to the European market, and what we see in China are all large-screen products, which are difficult for ordinary people to see.
NEC's current product production is divided into three parts:
Small screen hot products are all produced by AOC, and most of them are Fuqing products.
Large-screen and professional products are produced in Dongguan LITE-ON, such as 2 170NX we evaluated this time.
Some very advanced products are produced in Japan, such as LED backlight displays.
Interestingly, NEC small screen is not only produced by AOC, but also has AOC agents in China, which can be described as self-produced and self-sold!
■acer Acer
The situation of Acer monitor is similar to that of Youpai. Most of the products are manufactured by others, and the route of OEM is very complicated. As far as we know, many big manufacturers have done OEM work for him, such as AOC. Recently, some of Acer's products have been handed over to Foxconn, and it is said that the product quality is good.
Some of Acer's monitors are actually made in Taiwan Province Province, such as AL 19 16W and AL20 16W, which were very popular some time ago.
It is not reliable to say that Acer doesn't want to be a monitor. After all, Acer monitors sell well, especially in Europe. In addition, Acer needs to order a certain number of LCD panels to get a good price (notebooks alone can't maintain a large number), and giving up monitors has some adverse effects on the quantity. In short, Bian Xiao thinks Acer is unlikely to give up the monitor. If there is, it is not the market, but the internal reasons.
■EMC Proview /MAG
EMC used to be very strong in the field of display manufacturing, and now it sells its own brands such as EMC and MAG in Beijing. I heard that EMC sells well in other places, especially in 2-3 cities, because the price is quite cheap, at least brand products. As for MAG, it's all made and sold by EMC. At that time, the MAG brand was comparable to Sony monitors, and now it can only be used in the low-end market. Most products are OEM models, and MAG trademarks are on sale.
In addition to operating its own brand, EMC also engages in OEM business, such as the common Tsinghua Tongfang monitor and Haier Eye-moistening monitor, all of which are EMC OEM products. In the OEM market, EMC's quotation is relatively low and the product quality is average.
■ eizo Zhuo Yi
EIZO in Japan is a manufacturer focusing on monitors, and most of its products are produced in Japan. There used to be a few low-end products made in China, but later they were abandoned because of low price and poor performance. Now our common EIZO monitors are all made in Japan.
EIZO is the last frontier of Japanese display enthusiasts.
However, the current situation seems to be increasingly unfavorable to EIZO. In the past, EIZO occupied the market with high-end professional large-screen monitors, but now the market for low-end monitors is highly competitive. Samsung, Philips, BenQ and many other manufacturers have also taken a fancy to the rich profits in the professional market and are ready to attack! Although Samsung and BenQ are not as experienced as EIZO in professional display manufacturers, they are both manufacturers who have mastered the core technology of panel. It's not difficult to catch up with EIZO!
In the past, there were few large-screen products, and there were only a few brands with CRT exceeding 20 inches. EIZO can "stick to one side" through big-screen products. The LCD era is different. Ordinary household monitors can easily handle large screens, and 30 inches is not uncommon. All you have to do is call Dell's toll-free number and deliver the goods to your door. The price is cheap and the things are ok. Many fields that had to use EIZO before, such as art, industrial control, monitoring and other fields, can be replaced by ordinary monitors. Even if you can't replace it, you can buy professional models from Samsung, BenQ and other brands, and you can work at a low price. In this case, the living space of monitors in EIZO and other industries is greatly compressed, and the living pressure is great.
Although made in Japan has its advantages, the cost is too high after all. The wages of ordinary Japanese workers are higher than those of middle-level cadres in China enterprises, and they are still doing the primary work of "locking screws". Moreover, the cost of logistics raw materials in Japan is also very high (of course, they have their own advantages in this respect). This production strategy doesn't matter if it is used in luxury goods such as French perfume, but it will be ineffective if it is used in products that need mass production such as monitors, because in terms of quality, as long as the quality is qualified, the products produced in China are no different from those produced in Japan.
Display brands like EIZO have their advantages, but it is an irresistible trend to move the production parts to China in order to develop healthily in the future. Simply emphasizing local manufacturing can only delay yourself.
■ Other monitors
Miqi Jean: I have my own factory. Besides producing Miqi with its own brand, I also engage in OEM processing. Many products of Youpai are made in Miqi, and their menus are exactly the same and their appearance is similar.
MAYA Maya: It was originally a Korean brand, and later it was sold to Xunwei International. I don't have my own factory, and I rely on AOC and other OEMs.
Dreamer image: It is known as an Australian brand, but it is actually a sub-brand operated by Xunwei International. Mainly CRT, LCD is rare. Don't own a factory.
Tsinghua Tongfang: the abbreviation of a series of miscellaneous brand monitors. Basically, they are OEM products, and the channels are very complicated. Most of them are produced by EMC. The quality varies greatly, some are good, some are bad, and it is best not to buy those who don't know the details.
Haier Haier: The so-called "eye moistening" is actually just an ordinary LCD. Basically, it is not produced by itself. According to Bian Xiao's observation, most of them are EMC branded goods, even with the same appearance. A few are OEMs of AOC (L 170). It sells well in Shandong, but it can't be sold elsewhere.
Changhong TCL: It is not produced by itself. It is hardly sold in Beijing. I don't know the details of it. It is said that sales in Sichuan are good.
LITE-ON Yuanxing: Yuanxing itself is a foundry factory with a factory in Dongguan. The promotion of private brands is not very active, only recently, the quality situation is unknown.
NESO: It belongs to Taiwan Province Baocheng Group (the OEM of Nike sports shoes) and has its own factory.
Patriot: It doesn't have its own factory. Basically, they are AOC OEM products, and some of them are produced by EMC.
Lenovo Lenovo: It seems that there is no monitor retail. Most LCD monitors are manufactured by TPV in Beijing.
Sept: It used to be an American brand, but now it is made in China. The product quality is average. Have your own factory.
Buffalo: It belongs to one of the 7-up DIY brands. It is an authentic self-produced product and has a factory in Guangzhou. In the past, CRT was mainly produced, but now it mainly produces liquid crystal displays. Buffalo is a product promoted by DIY market, and it is 7-up when used on brand machines.
Small movie bully: New World's own brand monitor, of unknown origin.
Asus: things are first-class in workmanship, but the origin is mysterious. I haven't found out all the ins and outs of Bian Xiao. It may be produced by itself, or it may be commissioned by LITE-ON, a manufacturer with more high-end OEM.
Pure world: Xunyi has its own brand, and its products are mainly OEM, and the manufacturer is unknown.
■ Briefly talk about OEM
The brands listed above can be seen in the market, and many display manufacturers only do processing. Interested friends can find the shipment ranking of monitor manufacturers online, and many names in it are guaranteed that you have never heard of them.
Here we briefly talk about OEM manufacturing. Some people say that OEM products are not good, but this is actually a misunderstanding. The production of displays is not complicated. As long as the quality is well controlled, large-scale manufacturers can produce products with good quality. What determines the quality of products is the processing fee paid by customers. Just give more quality, but less quality is worse. The processing factory is not Lei Feng either. You can give anything, and you will never do anything for twenty cents.
Therefore, the quality of OEM products cannot be generalized, depending on the product itself. Dell and other monitors are OEM, and the quality is very good.
Generally speaking, the quality of display brands with their own factories is satisfactory, especially those with first-class production capacity such as AOC, Samsung, BenQ and Great Wall. Others, such as Youpai, Dell, a second car accident, a lifetime of pain! Although NEC basically relies on OEM production, it has strict quality management and excellent product quality. The quality of small brand products is hard to say. In many cases, the batch determines the quality. So I suggest you buy big brands, and small brands should be more cautious. I copied and pasted it.
