Jinjiang, as one of the important textile and garment production bases in China, started in the early 1980s. After more than 20 years of development, it has formed a complete system integrating chemical fiber, weaving, dyeing and finishing and garment production. The textile and garment industry has become the largest pillar industry in Jinjiang, and Jinjiang is therefore known as the "China Textile Industry Base". In the field of jacket production, Jinjiang currently has more than 1000 jacket brand manufacturers, gathering a number of well-known jacket brands, such as Ba Jin, Seven Wolves (Love Shares, Quotes, Information), Seven Brands, Jiu, Ai Du, etc. On July 16, 2006, at the press conference of "Jinjiang, China —— Jacket Capital of the World", TNS, the world's largest customized market research and consulting company, made a report on "Comparative Study of Chinese and Foreign Jacket Industry in Many Cities". The report showed that Jinjiang ranked among the five domestic jacket industry cluster cities in terms of production and sales, raw material supply, channel development and maintenance, and the number of jacket brands. On a global scale, Jinjiang is far ahead of the five developed cities in the clothing industry abroad with the advantages of jacket production scale, strength and total value of jacket industry. Jinjiang was rated as the garment industry city with the most complete eggplant industry chain, the largest production and sales volume and the fastest industrial growth in the world-Jinjiang became the "jacket capital of the world".
However, TNS survey data also found that there are still many problems in Jinjiang jacket industry, which caused us to worry about how long Jinjiang jacket industry can lead. There are more than 900 jacket OEM manufacturers in Jinjiang, and the annual sales of jacket OEM reach $210.3 billion, which is roughly equivalent to the annual sales of private brands of $2.5 billion. The scale of jacket OEM production accounts for about 7% of the world. This shows that the jacket production and sales in Jinjiang still rely on the comparative advantage of low production factors, especially labor costs. At the same time, there are as many as 1 1,000 independent brand manufacturers in Jinjiang, which is more than six times the sum of five international cities. The annual sales volume of Jinjiang eggplant brand is as high as 67 million, ranking first among the six cities. The annual sales of Jinjiang's own brand jackets is only 2.5 billion US dollars, ranking first with a slight advantage of only 65.438 US dollars more than Paris+50 million US dollars. Jinjiang has more than 20 well-known jacket brands in China and 9 well-known trademarks in China. China has the largest number of well-known trademarks for men's wear, but there are no world-class top brands.
