Textual research on the rhyme of Ruiguang Tower in Song Dynasty
The most intuitive charm of an ancient city is the ancient city walls and towers. I have climbed the few remaining city walls in Suzhou, and I like Panmen best, because the moat connects the prestigious Ruiguang Ancient Pagoda, the unique land and water gate and the famous Wumen ancient bridge at home and abroad, which has become the perfect scenery of an ancient city on the fitness trail of Suzhou moat.

Looking from a distance on the fitness trail of the moat, the Ruiguang Tower stands quietly, just like an old man who has read all the autumn scenery in the world. It is an octagonal seven-story ancient pagoda with exquisite architecture and beautiful shape, which can be called a masterpiece handed down from generation to generation. The charm of the ancient pagoda shows the beauty of Suzhou.

Panmen, called Panmen in ancient times, is one of the eight gates of Wudu. It used to be a transportation hub in the southwest of Suzhou, and it was also a bustling area where merchants gathered. The Ruiguang Tower, built in the Northern Song Dynasty, shines on the east-flowing Grand Canal day and night: at dawn, the tower is covered with thousands of rays of sunshine, and the sunset shines on the top of the tower, and the Ruiguang Tower will always be brilliant.

I turned from the moat fitness trail to Panmen Scenic Area and walked under the ancient pagoda. When the wind blows, the wind chimes jingle on the eaves of the pagoda, scaring away several birds. Looking up at this seven-level pagoda built during Sun Quan's Chiwu period in the Three Kingdoms, ups and downs in ancient and modern times come to mind.

The ancient pagoda, month after month, tells the legendary historical story of the ancient city of Gusu. The ancient pagoda, year after year, guards the quiet home of the ancient city of Gusu. Ancient pagodas, the sun and the moon, investigate the romantic life of the ancient city of Gusu in 2500 years.

Ruiguang Temple in Panmen Scenic Area was originally named Fusaiji and renamed Ruiguang Temple in Song Dynasty. According to records, it was built by Sun Quan of Wu Dong in the Three Kingdoms to welcome Kang Xing, a monk living in a comfortable country in the Western Regions. Later, in order to repay his mother's kindness, Sun Quan built a 13-story stupa in the temple.

Located in the original Puji Buddhist Temple, Ruiguang Pagoda is the earliest pagoda built in Suzhou. The treasures found in the tower include wooden letters, Buddhist scriptures, stone buddhas, stone foundations, tower bricks and other cultural relics.

The temple was destroyed and then repaired, and the tower was repaired many times in the past dynasties. Ruiguang Pagoda was built in the period of Sun Quan in the Three Kingdoms, with the initial floor of 13, and it was changed to 7 floors and 8 faces when it was rebuilt in the Northern Song Dynasty.

Climb the tower in a hurry, but it is stipulated that you can only climb to the fifth floor, not to the top floor. Climbing the stairs to the tower, you can see the panoramic view of Panmen on the fifth floor, overlooking the sky, the panoramic view of the land and water gates of Wumen Bridge and Panmen, and the panoramic view of Suzhou ancient city.

In the blue sky, a few white clouds are floating gently. The sky is white and the white clouds are blue. In a trance, there is a wind blowing, like the river of time capturing the old rhyme of Song Dynasty. I feel small, weak, frivolous and confused.

The white clouds are long and finally far away, drifting into the distance. The ancient pagoda stretched out its hands to the blue sky and white clouds. It seems to have caught the drifting white clouds, and it seems to have retained the drifting years.

For thousands of years, Ruiguang Temple Tower has been repeatedly abandoned and rebuilt by 18 times, but it still preserves the style of the Song Dynasty. The height of the restored Ruiguang Tower is about 53.6 meters, and the tower height decreases layer by layer, and the area also converges accordingly. The tower shrinks layer by layer from bottom to top, and the outer contour is slightly curved, which is delicate and soft.

The Ruiguang Tower consists of an outer wall, a cloister and a tower center. The brick tower body is basically the original structure of the Song Dynasty, and the practice of "Yongding column" in the center of the tower bottom is still rare in existing ancient buildings. The bottom of the tower is carved with lions, beasts, figures, wishful thinking, walking clouds, etc., which is concise, smooth, vivid and natural, and can be called a masterpiece of stone carving in Song Dynasty. There are layers of eaves at the top of the tower, and each layer uses brick-wood bucket arches to pick out wooden waist eaves and seats from the inner wall.

1April, 978, archaeologists found a batch of precious cultural relics from the Five Dynasties and the early Northern Song Dynasty in the brick niche in the center of the third floor tower of Ruiguang Tower. Luodian has two bronze and gold-plated stupas, nine Tibetan statues, Guanyin, Buddha Bodhisattva statues, five generations of calligraphy scriptures, the Northern Song Dynasty woodcut Lotus Sutra, lacquer boxes embedded with Tibetan scriptures and so on.

In particular, a "real pearl relic building" is the most exquisite among cultural relics, with a height of 1.22 meters. It is made of jewelry, which integrates jade carving, gold and silver crafts, wood carving, gold painting, Qi Diao and other arts. It is a rare treasure. Now it's in Suzhou Museum.

These cultural relics are of great value to the study of the social development and artistic achievements of the Han nationality in the Song Dynasty. It is these cultural relics that prove that the existing brick tower is the relic of the second year of the Northern Song Dynasty (1009).

Looking west from the Ruiguang Tower, you can see Siruitang and Lijing Building on the central axis. Sirui Hall is an imitation of the Song Dynasty. It rests on the top of the mountain with a single eaves, and its appearance is solemn and simple. It is a major attraction of Guruiguang Temple. According to legend, in the second year of Yuanfeng in the Northern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1079), a monk gave a lecture at Ruiguang Temple, and Bo Hong was subtle, superb and earthmoving, and turned into a lark. Suddenly, the "Four Auspicious Ruins" appeared in Ruiguang Temple. The towers in the temple shone with Ruiguang, drums sounded on the temple, white turtles in the pond participated in meditation, and the dead bamboo in the garden turned green in generate. Take a look today. The ancient pagodas are ringing, the Tang Ruiyi stands, the buildings are exquisite, and the pavilions are flowing, which is famous all over the world. "

Up to now, there is Gui Ling Zhu Zhu in front of the hall. Chi Pan and the giant white marble turtle that just climbed out of the pool lay motionless together, with their necks stretched out and their eyes open, looking solemn, as if holding their breath, because he was listening to Master Yuan Zhao preaching Zen righteousness.

Sitting on a clear water, the Lijing Building in Shengjing, Wuzhong, far away from the Ruiguang Tower, was once the tallest building in ancient Suzhou and was called "Xiong Jia San Wu". However, the wind and rain of the years and the vicissitudes of history made it disappear prematurely, and it did not reappear until 1999. The Lijing Building is reconstructed according to the ancient shape, and looks like the Wang Teng Pavilion in Nanchang. It is magnificent, graceful and spectacular.

There are cloisters connecting pavilions, pavilions and pavilions in the southeast, northwest and all around the Lijing Building, which seems to be open-minded to accept distant mountains and near water, fragrant grass and green trees, misty clouds and sunset clouds. Lijinglou is even more graceful and has unlimited scenery.

The Ruiguang Tower witnessed the historical changes of Suzhou. Looking at Suzhou from the Ruiguang Tower, the city has passed through thousands of years and passed on in an orderly way. It moved from Taibo a thousand years ago to the present, generation after generation.

Perhaps, we can have a good look at the white-haired Suzhou from today's Ruiguang Tower.
