1. Development Overview
Since the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", the municipal party committee and the municipal government have adhered to the coordinated and integrated development of urban and rural areas and vigorously implemented the strategies of "building a city through industry" and "breakthroughs in counties". The comprehensive strength of our city's food and agricultural and sideline products processing industry has been significantly improved, and its industrial competitiveness has been continuously enhanced. It has become a pillar industry of our city's industrial economy and the main channel for industry to feed back agriculture. In 2010, the city's agricultural product processing industry (11 industry categories in a broad sense) achieved a total output value of 49.086 billion yuan and an added value of 16.101 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.9%. Among them, the food and agricultural and sideline products processing industry (4 industry categories in a narrow sense) , achieving a total output value of 29.542 billion yuan and an added value of 10.295 billion yuan.

(1) Complete industrial categories
The city has formed a leading industrial chain with Yili Dairy, Mengniu Modern Animal Husbandry, Hei Niu Food, etc. The dairy industry; the seed industry led by Fengle, Longping Hi-Tech, and Tsuen Yin; the nut roasting industry led by Huatai, Zhenxin, etc.; the grain industry led by Jinrun Rice Industry, Anhui Yanzhifang, and Fengda Group Processing industry; vegetable and fruit processing industry led by Dinglu, Huizhihuang, Tongtai, Jinlu and other companies; feed processing industry based on New Hope, Tongwei, Dabeinong, Huaren and other companies; and He Chengcheng, Yurun, Wenshi, Senmiao, etc. are the leading livestock and poultry processing industries.
(2) Leading enterprises continue to grow
As of the end of 2010, the number of agricultural product processing enterprises above designated size in our city exceeded 500, and the city’s leading agricultural industrialization enterprises have grown from 83 in 2005 to 305 homes. Among them, there are 11 national-level leading enterprises and 35 provincial-level leading enterprises; 55 leading enterprises with annual sales exceeding 100 million yuan, 15 exceeding 500 million yuan, and 7 exceeding 1 billion yuan. Through the development of pollution-free agricultural products, green food, organic food, etc., our city has registered more than 1,200 agricultural product brands and has 5 well-known Chinese trademarks , 4 Chinese famous brands, 36 provincial famous trademarks, and 17 provincial famous brand products. Currently, nearly 50 of the leading enterprises at or above the municipal level have established technology research and development institutions. More than 100 companies have passed ISO9000, ISO14000, HACCP and QS system certification. There are 15 organic food certifications, 104 green food certifications, and 162 national pollution-free agricultural products certifications. In addition, through the development of industry-specific technical equipment, a number of companies with strong R&D and innovation capabilities, such as Meiya Optoelectronics and Anhui Technology, have emerged and have mastered the high-end core technologies of some special equipment.
(4) The effect of industrial agglomeration is obvious
Create a number of agricultural industry clusters that are “distinctive, powerful, tasteful and attractive”. The construction of Feidong County Food Industrial Park, Changfeng County Shuangfeng Industrial Zone Agricultural Products Processing Park and Shushan District Seed Industry Concentration Zone has begun to take shape. The city's agricultural product standardization and large-scale base construction have made progress. Leading enterprises have established multiple interest linkage mechanisms through "company + base + farmers", "company + intermediary organization + farmers" and other methods, and built 75 agricultural standardized production bases, including national-level 5, 7 at the provincial level, with a base area of ??more than 3 million acres, basically forming a production pattern of block and strip bases for superior agricultural products.

The quality and safety control and supervision system has been basically established, the construction of a public service platform for quality inspection and testing of agricultural products has been accelerated, and the food safety of leading enterprises has achieved full-process quality control.
