With the development of society, more and more places use LED lights. Some places that need to be decorated also need to use LED light strings. When night falls at night, most of the lights in the city are LED lights, and even neon flashes. It is also the LED light strings that play their role. So how to connect the LED light string to the power supply?
1. Power connection method of LED light string
The general voltage of LED light string is DC 12V, so it needs to use a switching power supply. The size of the power supply depends on the power and connection of the LED light string. Determine the length. If you do not want each LED light string to be controlled by a power supply, you can purchase a relatively high-power switching power supply as the main power supply, and then connect all the LED light string input power supplies in parallel (if the wire size is not enough, you can extend it separately). All are powered by the main switching power supply. The advantage of this is that it can be controlled centrally. The inconvenience is that it cannot realize the lighting effect and switch control of a single LED light string. The specific method to be used can be measured by yourself. The LED light strings I use from Zhongshan Greenman are all connected using the main power supply plus parallel connection method.
2. How to choose LED lights
1. Look at the packaging and trademarks
For a qualified and regular LED lamp, the following content will be marked on the outer packaging : Rated voltage, voltage range, rated power, rated frequency. Generally speaking, the trademarks of high-quality products have good printing quality, clear fonts, and are not easy to fall off. They can be wiped with a soft wet cloth. The logos are clearly legible and not easy to be wiped off. They have the manufacturer's trademark and related certification marks. Counterfeit products have poor printing quality, blurred fonts, easy erasure, and no manufacturer's trademark and related certification marks.
2. Look at the appearance of LED lamp tubes
Real LED energy-saving lamps use three primary color tubes. The tubes are white. If you cover them with your hands, they will become whiter. In addition, from the perspective of lamp tubes, you can put multiple lamps together to compare. Lamp tubes with better consistency in shape and size are mostly machine-bent and are mass-produced products. The consistency of the product is good, the quality is easier to ensure, and the interchangeability during maintenance is better. Of course, there should be no cracks, looseness, or signs of prying between the interfaces. During the installation and disassembly process, the lamp head should not be loose or tilted.
The plastic shell of the lamp must be made of engineering plastic flame retardant. Ordinary plastics are easily deformed and flammable, and are prohibited from being used in the production of energy-saving lamps. The two can be easily distinguished from the surface. The latter has a smoother and glossier surface, while the former has a texture similar to frosted glass.
3. Look at the driver
Generally, the lifespan of LEDs is not 50,000 hours as claimed by the manufacturer. The cross-flow drivers currently on the market that have passed EU certification can basically reach 20,000 hours. Since LED lighting-level products have only been around for 2 to 3 years, it is impossible to know that they can be used for 5 to 10 years without breaking the driver and not losing light, so most major manufacturers will provide a two-year warranty.
4. Look at the startup performance
LED energy-saving lamps have two characteristics when starting: first, the higher the temperature, the easier it is to start; second, when the light is turned off, it will not flash. In addition, it is worth mentioning that many LED energy-saving lamps are very dim when turned on, which is detrimental to the life of the bulb. LED energy-saving lamps should have a power circuit and PCB board inside them.
5. Look at the lighting color.
Good quality light has uniform color and no color difference. For example, warm white has the same color temperature, but different light colors are not uniform. For example, although the 10 lights are all warm white, they look different and have color differences. Some are more yellow, and some are light yellow or even red. In addition, if a good LED has a high color rendering index, the object will retain its original color when the light shines on it. A poor LED will cause the object to change color when the light hits it. Simple test method: a batch of lights are lit at the same time, and the naked eye can see whether there is any color difference.
6. Look at the working temperature
Under normal working conditions, the temperature rise of LED energy-saving lamps should be very low. Otherwise, the life of LED energy-saving lamps is very short. At the same time, if the energy-saving lamp flashes very quickly or dazzles when it is lit, it indicates that there is a quality problem with the energy-saving lamp.
7. Check the interference situation
In our country, electromagnetic compatibility is an item that electrical appliances must pass. However, the detection of this item is very complicated. When users purchase lamps, they should check whether it is on the packaging. It has the mark of passing the national electromagnetic compatibility test. The second is to bring a medium and short wave radio. When the lamp is working, put the radio nearby. The better.
