Self-owned Brand refers to a brand independently developed by an enterprise and with independent intellectual property rights.

One definition is that if the vehicle model trademark (factory mark) is China's own trademark (including imported technology products), it is a domestic brand and is regarded as an independent brand; if it bears a foreign factory mark or trademark, it is a foreign brand. Another definition holds that brands in which Chinese domestic enterprises have complete product modification rights and complete brand operation rights can be called independent brands. But not all R&D work must be completed locally. The key is to have independent rights. The most controversial independent method at present, similar independent brands come from relatively mature joint ventures.
