The eight pillar industries * * * have 5 well-known trademarks in China, 0/0 famous brand products in China, 42 national inspection-free products, 40 famous trademarks in Guangdong Province and 39 famous brand products in Guangdong Province. The number of enterprises above designated size increased rapidly, and the quality of development improved in an all-round way. It has four listed companies: Midea, Kelon, Wan Jiale and Keda. In 2004, there were 49 enterprises with output value exceeding 100 million yuan 149, 2 enterprises with output value exceeding 10, and 4 enterprises with output value exceeding10.

The home appliance manufacturing industry is in a leading position in Shunde's industrial economy with large scale, complete categories and well-known brands. Shunde is one of the largest production bases of air conditioners, refrigerators, water heaters and disinfection cupboards in China, and also the largest supply base of electric fans, rice cookers and microwave ovens in the world, with the reputation of "Home Appliances Kingdom" and "Home Appliances Capital". In addition, the competitive advantages of furniture manufacturing, coatings, electronic communication, mechanical equipment and other industries are also obvious. Furniture manufacturing and coatings account for more than 10% of the production and sales of the same industry in China respectively.

The high-tech industry represented by electronic information manufacturing industry has developed rapidly. In 2004, the output value of high-tech industries in the whole region was 47 billion yuan, accounting for about one third of the total industrial output value, of which the output value of electronic information industry was 27.5 billion yuan.
