A brand that can only produce foreign products in reverse seems to be just an inconspicuous small workshop in everyone's eyes, and the recent bankruptcy rumors seem to indicate the fact that a "small enterprise" that can only be imitated is about to close down.
It can only imitate, but if people think Zotye is just a small enterprise, then you are wrong. Zotye Group, like Nie Tengfei's "Express Empire", is also a typical family-owned enterprise, with 10 automobile brands and 14 production bases, far exceeding the number of joint venture brand manufacturers in your eyes!
Musso
In fact, it is Tieniu Group that is quietly paid behind Zotye Automobile. Before investing in the vehicle business in 2003, Tieniu Group had made small achievements in automobile supporting fields such as automobile metal stamping parts and stamping dies. At that time, it was already a supplier of automobile companies such as BAIC, Changhe and Jianghuai. Seeing the considerable profits in the automobile industry, the chairman of Tieniu Group chose to enter the vehicle manufacturing industry.
After several rounds of negotiations, Wu Jianzhong, who is in charge of the vehicle business of Tieniu Group, bought the production line of Dalu Terry, and even brought the equipment with molds, as well as technical workers and management personnel back to the Group. In 2005, Zotye Automobile Factory was completed, and the first new car was rolled off the assembly line on June 18. However, this new car named Zotye 2008 is the reverse product of Dalu Terry, and the road to making cars of Tieniu Group started from imitation.
Zotye 2008 has no qualification to build a car, so there is no way to sell it to the outside world. At a loss, Zotye found Chengdu Xindadi Automobile, and Zotye 2008 was finally listed in the name of Xindadi RX6400 in early 2006.
Jiangnan Otto
It is unrealistic for a brand without the qualification to build a car. In 2007, Zotye found Hunan Jiangnan Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. with suitable qualifications. Later, Chengdu Xindadi was ordered by CCTV informed criticism and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to rectify within a time limit because it set up a branch without authorization and applied a large number of certificates from the head office.
After Tieniu Group acquired 70% of the shares of Jiangnan Automobile, it resumed production of Alto and changed its name to Jiangnan TT, which gained valuable qualification for building cars. Zotye Group subsequently established two production bases in Hunan and Hubei, and established Changsha Business Department. For more than ten years, other brands of Zotye Automobile have been using the product announcements and certificates of Jiangnan Automobile. However, with the complete shutdown of Jiangnan TT at the end of 20 18, Zotye has abandoned Jiangnan brand and only retained its production qualification.
Zotye automobile
What we are most familiar with is Zotye Automobile, which is marked by "Z". After several years of development, "Zotye" has become a minor celebrity in the automobile market. Although it acquired Jiangnan Automobile, Zotye decided to develop its own brand. Since 2008, all Zotye models have started to use the Z logo.
There is also a short story about Zotye's Z logo. Mr. Wang from Anhui is an enthusiast of logo design. In 2006, seeing that Zotye's logo was too ugly, Mr. Wang designed several logo drawings and sent them to Zotye Automobile. In April of the following year, Zotye Automobile hoped that Mr. Wang would make an electronic version of the design drawings. When Mr. Wang sent an email to Zotye Automobile, Zotye began to disappear. A year later, Zotye Automobile applied to the State Trademark Office for a graphic registered trademark, but the dispute between the two parties has not yet reached a definite result.
Zotye Zhi Dou
By taking a stake in Jiangnan Automobile, Zotye finally got the most valuable qualification to build a car. With the development of domestic automobile industry, there are many new automobile brands like Zotye that can't be sold because they can't get the qualification to build cars. Zhi Dou is one of them.
After ranking first in the motor and controller industry of electric vehicles, New Ocean Electromechanical Group decided to enter the automobile industry. At the beginning of 20 12, Zhi Dou electric vehicle was unveiled in Shandong. Because it has no qualification to build a car, it can only be sold as a low-speed electric car, which is "Old Man Le".
After passing the EU certification, Zhi Dou sold well in Europe. However, in China, in order to solve the qualification problem, Zhi Dou began to discuss with Zotye to borrow the qualification for domestic sales at the end of 20 13, so Zotye Zhi Dou came into being. However, due to various reasons of Zotye Company, this brand only existed for one year.
Zotye damai
Damai is just a sales network developed by Zotye Jintan Business Department, which mainly produces three models: Damai X5, Damai X7 and sesame E30. The following sales networks of Zotye compete with each other, and dealers are not allowed to sell Zotye cars on other networks. In addition, Damai is different from our common Zhongtai 4S store in decoration style. Damai 4S Store uses Domy as its logo, and there is no "Z" logo of Zotye.
Damai X5 and X7 were still very popular when they first went on the market, but the technology and poor quality of the third set made it common for Damai to sell 100 sets a month. At present, both Damai X5 and X7 are discontinued for sale, and Zotye official website has been unable to find the relevant information of the two models. As for Damai, we can regard it as an independent product series of Zotye Group.
