In 1952, Jiangxi Metallurgical Research Institute was established and began to engage in tungsten mining, mineral processing and smelting research.

From 1970 to 1980, the Southern ion adsorption rare earth ore was discovered and named, and the first generation mining technology of the Southern ion ore was invented.

In 1984, it was renamed Ganzhou Nonferrous Metallurgical Research Institute.

In 1989, it was the first to use fluoride system electrolysis to produce neodymium metal in Jiangxi Province

In 1989, the State Import and Export Commodity Inspection Bureau awarded the analysis room of the institute the "Import and Export of Tungsten Concentrates and Rare Earths" Product Quality Inspection Unit".

In 1991, four scientific research projects including "Research on New Ionic Rare Earth In-situ Leaching Process" were included in the national "Eighth Five-Year Plan" research projects.

The trial production of mixed rare earth metals was successful.

In 1995, with the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, we were granted self-operated import and export rights. The rare earth metal production line with an annual output of 200 tons was officially put into production.

In 1996, the "New Ionic Rare Earth In-Situ Leaching Process" passed the national technical appraisal and acceptance, and this project was considered to be at an internationally leading level. This project was rated as a major scientific and technological achievement and one of the top ten internationally leading major scientific and technological achievements at the National "Eighth Five-Year Plan" Key Research Project Commendation Conference held in November.

In 1997, the trademark "Ganyan" for rare earth series products and picking equipment was officially registered with the State Trademark Office. Rare earth metals can reach 350 tons/year. The institute was recognized as a "High-tech Enterprise in Jiangxi Province". "New Ionic Rare Earth In-situ Leaching Process" won the third prize of the National Invention Award in 1997.

In 1998, the rare earth material factory was put into operation with a production capacity of 650 tons/year, marking the beginning of the large-scale production of rare earth metals by our institute. The ISO9002 quality system has passed the certification hosted by the "China Import and Export Commodity Quality Certification Center" and is the first enterprise in Jiangxi's rare earth industry to pass the certification.

In 1999, the Ministry of Science and Technology approved the institute as a "National Key High-tech Enterprise". Rare earth metal production capacity reaches 800 tons/year

In 2000, a high-tech industrialization project research team was established.

On February 10, 2001, Jiangxi Nanfang Rare Earth High-Tech Co., Ltd. was established. And invested in the establishment of Dingnan Southern Rare Earth Co., Ltd. and Xunwu Southern Rare Earth Co., Ltd.

The development of the Wanan electrolytic furnace began in 2002

The Wanan electrolytic furnace was put into operation in 2003, with a rare earth metal production capacity of 1,500 tons/year
