Henan is the birthplace of China's commercial civilization and trademark culture.

Henan is located in the Central Plains with a long history and profound cultural heritage. It is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization and the Chinese nation.

Business starts from Yu. Henan is the birthplace of China's commerce and business culture.

Shi Zai, the seventh monarch of Shang State in Xia Dynasty (now Shangqiu), served cattle and horses to develop production in Shangqiu, which promoted the rapid development of agriculture, and used ox carts to pull goods to trade with foreign tribes, making Shang tribes strong. Wang Hai initiated commercial trade. Over time, people call businessmen engaged in trade activities "businessmen", commodities used for exchange as "commodities" and occupations engaged by businessmen as "commerce". Later generations revered Wang Hai as "the ancestor of Chinese businessmen".

Fan Li, one of the Five Sages in Nanyang, was a politician, strategist and economist in Yue during the Spring and Autumn Period. Around 496 BC, Fan Li entered Vietnam, helping Gou Jian, the King of Yue, to step back and abandon his official position and go into business. Historical Records records that "nineteen years of hard work, triple payment of gold, and huge accumulation of wealth", and "being rich leads to virtue", and he is a business sage in China.

Duanmu Ci, the originator of Confucian merchants, was a patriot at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period. He now lives in Xun County, Hebi, Henan Province. Zi Gong is one of the seventy-two sages of Confucius. Zigong operates in good faith, and "a gentleman loves money and has a good way to get it". In the history of later generations, "Duanmu suicide note" is often used to express people who do business in good faith.

China is the first country to use trademarks in the world, and the trademark form sprouted in Anyang, the ancient capital of Yin and Shang Dynasties.

The Shang and Zhou bronzes, pottery and other cultural relics unearthed in Anyang have various marks such as patterns, animals and inscriptions, which are considered to be the seeds of early trademarks.

This is also confirmed by Western Zhou tombs unearthed all over the country. For example, the Western Zhou Dynasty "Houyi" clock unearthed in Shouguang County, Shandong Province is engraved with the words "Houyi as a bell protector". For example, the inscription "Good season in Dingding" has the words "Good season in Dingding". These words all play the role of recognition.

Among the cultural relics unearthed in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it is found that many pottery, lacquerware, silk embroidery and other items made by craftsmen are engraved with the words "made by a certain record". If these items are sold or exchanged in the market, they will have the function of text marking, that is, identifying the source of the goods.
