Shennongjia National Nature Reserve is located in the southwest of Shennongjia Forest Region in Hubei Province, with a total area of 70,467 hectares. It is divided into two parts: the eastern part is centered on Laojun Mountain, with an area of 10467 hectares, and the western part is centered on Shennongjia, with an area of 60,000 hectares.

Shennongjia National Nature Reserve is rich in biological species. The forest coverage rate is 98%. There are various vegetation types, such as evergreen broad-leaved forest, evergreen deciduous broad-leaved forest, deciduous broad-leaved forest, mixed coniferous forest, coniferous forest, shrub, arrow bamboo, alpine meadow, etc., which is the epitome of the main vegetation types in Eurasia from subtropical to cold temperate zone. According to incomplete statistics, there are 32 16 species of higher vascular plants, 493 species of wild mammals, birds, fish and amphibians, and 4 143 species of insects in nature reserves. Among them, 73 species of animals such as golden monkey and golden eagle are listed as national key protected animals. There are 259 species of wild animals protected by the state that are beneficial or have important economic and scientific research value. Hubei Shennongjia National Geopark is located in the south-central part of Shennongjia forest region, with an area of about 1700km2. It was approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources in 2005 and awarded in May 2008. Shennongjia Geopark has the most complete Precambrian strata in the world, with complete geological structure, complete strata exposure and obvious structural evidence, which not only preserves the traces of Yanshan orogeny, but also reveals the strong influence of Himalayan movement. It not only preserves the Cambrian and Ordovician fossil groups, but also reveals karst landforms and glacial landforms. Shennongjia's specific geological background, geographical location and climatic conditions combine many geological and geomorphological landscapes. The complete Precambrian system, typical fault dome structure, Quaternary glacial remains, detachment surface over 2000 meters, alpine wetland meadows, canyons, rivers, waterfalls, underground rivers, springs, stone forests and caves constitute Shennongjia's unique geological wonders.

Shennongjia National Geopark is divided into six scenic spots from west to east: Dajiuhu scenic spot is characterized by glacier landform and alpine meadow development; Banqiao scenic spot is dominated by eroded structural landforms; Shennongding scenic spot shows magnificent mountain landforms and typical geological sections; The development of canyons and karst landforms in Tian Yan Scenic Area: Xiangxi Garden Scenic Area features canyons and river source landscapes; Laojunshan Scenic Area has developed fault structures and water landscape. Hubei Shennongjia National Dajiuhu Wetland Park is located in Dajiuhu Township, Shennongjia Forest Region, covering an area of 5,083.5 hectares, of which Dajiuhu covers an area of 3,978 hectares. Lake Xiao Jiu covers an area of 1 105.5 hectares. It is the first subalpine wetland park and the fourth national wetland park approved by the State Forestry Administration as of 2008, and has been included in the national list of important wetlands.

Dajiuhu Wetland is located at the eastern edge of the second step of China's topography, in the transition zone from the central subtropical zone to the northern subtropical zone in China. It is a subalpine basin with a bottom elevation of 1730m and a highest peak of 2800m, which is called "alpine plain". It is the only subtropical subalpine wetland in central China, with rich wetland resources and diverse ecosystems.

Wetland resources include shrub swamp, grassland swamp and sphagnum swamp. In 2009, Shennongjia Dajiuhu National Wetland Park won the first place in "The Most Beautiful Wetland Park in China" in the list of the most beautiful tourist attractions in China. Shennongjia Ski Resort was built in 2004 in response to the idea of the State Sports General Administration that "snow fields are exhibited in the north and snow fields are exhibited in the south". 30 kilometers away from Muyu Provincial Tourist Resort. It is the first ski resort with the largest scale and complete functions in Central China, integrating Fu Na with natural snow. The average monthly temperature of tourist ski resort in winter is -4℃, and the annual snow time is about 150 days.
