How many years is the trademark valid for?

The validity period of a registered trademark is usually 10 years, calculated from the date of approval of registration.

If the trademark registrant wants to continue to use the trademark, he should go through the renewal procedures within 12 months before the expiration date. The validity period of each renewal is also 10 years, starting from the day after the last validity period expires. If the trademark owner fails to complete the renewal procedures in time, there is still a 6-month extension period, that is, it can be renewed for up to 6 months after the trademark expires. If the renewal is not completed within the grace period, the registered trademark will be cancelled.

Applying for a registered trademark has the following conditions:

1. The principle of good faith must be followed;

2. Legal elements must be present;

3. The trademark must have distinctive features, be easy to identify, and must not conflict with the legal rights previously obtained by others;

4. The trademark must not violate the provisions of the Trademark Law prohibiting the registration or use of certain marks;

5. The trademark applied for registration shall not be identical or similar to a registered trademark that has been revoked or canceled for less than one year.
