How to distinguish between good and bad floors

There are two types of floors: wooden floors and floor tiles. The specific distinction methods are as follows:

1. Wooden floors

1. Look at the color and purity of the base material. The base material is made of wood fiber with high purity. Basically, no other impurities can be seen. The color is light wood fiber. Check whether the color of the floor is realistic and clear. Check whether the color on the back of the floor is uniform. If the product is unqualified, Water-stained texture will appear on the back of the floor after it gets damp; check whether there are production date, code, trademark, grade and other marks on the floor.

2. Use your fingernails to break off the edge of the floor base material to see if the base material falls off and test the strength of the floor.

3. You can bring a small piece of woodworking sandpaper with you and rub it back and forth on the floor surface for more than a dozen times. If the wear-resistant layer of the floor is not up to standard, it will leave obvious marks on the floor surface, while a good floor will No trace will appear.

4. Cut a small piece of the base material of the floor into thin slices and burn it with a lighter. If the formaldehyde content is high, it will emit a pungent smell like burning plastic. If it is lower, it will emit a smell like burning cotton.

Second, floor tiles

1. Look at the appearance

The color and pattern of the floor tiles should be uniform and complete, the surface should be smooth and smooth, without raised particles, and the edges of the floor tiles should be regular. You can pull out a few pieces from a box of floor tiles to observe whether there are defects such as color difference, deformation, damage, etc.

2. Listen to the sound

The quality of floor tiles can be distinguished by listening to the sound. Tap the floor tiles lightly with a hard object. The crisper the sound, the higher the degree of porcelain and the better the quality; the muddier the sound, the worse the quality.

3. Drops of water

Drop a few drops of water on the back of the floor tiles to see how quickly the water is absorbed after it spreads. Slow water absorption indicates that the floor tiles are dense and of high quality; fast water absorption indicates that the floor tiles are sparse in density and of poor quality.

4. Measure the side length

The higher the accuracy of the side length of the floor tiles, the better the paving effect. Use a tape measure to measure the side length, size, and thickness of each floor tile to see if there is any difference. High-precision products are of high quality, are easy to construct, and can save man-hours and auxiliary materials.

5. Check the hardness

The harder the floor tiles are, the longer they will last. The one with good hardness, strong toughness and not easily broken is the top grade. The hardness of the floor tiles can be judged by hitting the edges and corners of two broken floor tiles against each other. The hardness of the floor tiles can be judged by looking at whether the broken pieces leave scratches or powder. The hardness of the scratches left is high, and the hardness of the scattered powder is low.
