Xi 'an Qinling Wildlife Park is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xi 'an Tourism Group and a wholly state-owned enterprise. This is a key construction project in Shaanxi Province and xi during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, with a total investment of 395 million yuan. It is located in Chang 'an District, Xi City, covering an area of more than 2,600 mu. The park was opened on May 1 2004. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national wildlife protection science education base and a national youth civilization number. Xi 'an Qinling Wildlife Park, formerly known as Xi 'an Zoo, was founded in May 1954, originally belonging to Xi 'an Revolutionary Park, and moved to Jinhua North Road in New Town on May 1977. In 2004, it moved to the current site of Chang 'an District, Xi 'an City, and was transformed into Xi 'an Qinling Wildlife Park, which was officially opened on May 1 day of that year. The park is located in the tourist belt around the mountain at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains in Chang 'an District, backed by the shallow mountain of Yukou, with tens of thousands of century-old trees scattered in layers, covering an area of more than 2,000 mu, and exhibiting more than 300 kinds of tens of thousands of animals (heads). It is a comprehensive urban garden project that integrates the functions of ex-situ wildlife protection, popular science education, scientific research, tourism and leisure vacation.
