Chateau Lafite is one of the four wineries rated as a first-class winery in 1855. It is known as the "Queen" of French wine. It was established in the mid-14th century and has a long history. In the 17th century, the winery was bought by J.D. SEGUR, a celebrity in the wine industry. He was also a well-known winery: LATOUR, MOUTON, and CALON SEGUR. The owner's wealth is evident, and because the royal aristocrats and upper-class people at that time had a special liking for this winery, it became famous for a while. But the good times did not last long. In the mid-18th century, after the death of the third generation owner of the Siger family, Chateau Lafite entered a period of dark history. One hundred years later, in the mid-19th century, it was purchased by BARON JAMES ROTHSCHILD, the ancestor of the current family, at a very high price. During this period, we experienced the dark periods of the First and Second World Wars. The real revival of Lafite came in the 20th century, more than a hundred years later. In the 1970s, the performance of the young successors was very disappointing. It was not until after 1975 that several famous winemakers intervened to make the wine quality lively, lively and distinct. A new page in the history of the winery is reopened.
