The origin of three people
Xiaogang Feng is a screenwriter and artist. His impressions of directors are New Year films, commercial films and modern life films.
Zhang Yimou was born as a photographer, and his impression is the tone and scene of the picture. The content is biased towards the struggle of a character, often creating a "woman-seeking".
Chen Kaige's achievement as a director lies in Farewell My Concubine.
Each of them leads the way.
The three of them have been masters in China film and television circles for more than ten years, but they have formed their own style. Zhang Yimou pays attention to grand scenes and rigorous conception, taking China culture as the original element, which is mainly reflected in literary films; Good at language works, especially Feng's humor without losing a certain taste, dare to shoot sensitive topics in society; As for Chen Kaige, he comes from a scholarly family. Like most Beijingers, only one or two movies have a good reputation, and the rest are rubbish. But in the film and television circle, especially in Beijing's literary and art circles, he has more connections or influence than them.
Three people are not comparable, because everyone is good at different things. If we have to divide it into the following differences, I personally think that Feng Dao belongs to the street citizen director; Director Chen belongs to the academic school and is not very grounded; Director Zhang belongs to that kind of director with typical national style and strong national characteristics.
The three styles are different.
As three well-known domestic directors, their personal styles are outstanding. Xiaogang Feng is more realistic and more easily accepted by the general audience. Zhang Yimou is more interested in pictures and artistic beauty, which is preferred by the audience with aesthetic preference. Chen Kaige is interested in freehand brushwork and has certain requirements for audience awareness. They all have good works, and I have basically seen them.
Judging from the average level of their films, Zhang Yimou and Xiaogang Feng are better than Chen Kaige. If we have to compare Zhang Yimou with Xiaogang Feng, I think the average level of Zhang Yimou is slightly better. But as far as the highest quality of a single film is concerned, Chen Kaige's Farewell My Concubine should be the most eye-catching, and the film tension is really strong, followed by Zhang Yimou's Alive and Xiaogang Feng's Assembly.
These three film and television directors are all famous, fighting for the hegemony of this platform in the real environment, but each has its own strategy and tactics. On the surface, there are not many open struggles, which shows that they are not good at bifurcation, and they are even less clear about what they support and what they do not support ideologically. But their goals are the same, all for the market, the box office or the audience. One New Year film is in a hurry, the other is red lantern and red sorghum, and the other is a work that I forget how I became famous, but I always appreciate it. Each has his own unique skills and good companions.
Generally speaking, it is the first generation, the second generation and the third generation of China film directors who have created conditions for them and provided the way for China films to start to mature. They have caught up with the reform, the conditions and environment are superior, audio-visual music and performances are mechanized, and now they are digital and intelligent. The visual effect of screen printing has improved several steps. Without the older generation of film directors and the emergence of new technologies, they would not have today's fame and reputation. But whether it's good or not, it's hard for people with unclear views to beat him. The phenomenon of tripartite confrontation still exists objectively, and it is still an old trick in the end.
