This should be Kuanzhai Lane in Chengdu.

Kuanzhai Lane is located near Changshun Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan. It is formed by parallel arrangement of wide lanes, narrow lanes and wells. This is an antique quadrangle with indigo bricks. It is also a large-scale ancient street of Qing Dynasty left over from Chengdu. Together with Daci Temple and Wenshuyuan, it is also called the protected block of Chengdu's three famous historical and cultural cities.

In the fifty-seventh year of Kangxi (17 18), after the Zhungeer rebellion was put down, Kuanzhai Lane arranged to leave more than one thousand soldiers stationed in Chengdu to build a small city. Today's Kuanzhai Lane is the legacy of a small city. Kuanzhai Lane has more than 70 courtyards and more than 300 rooms. In Qing Dynasty, only Manchu and Mongolian Eight Banners lived in this city. After the demise of the Manchu dynasty, the city was no longer forbidden, and people were free to go in and out. Some foreign businessmen took the opportunity to open pawn shops near the city and bought a lot of property of the flag bearer. It has formed a unique pattern of cities where banners, dignitaries and descendants of peddlers live together. The wide alley here is called Xingren Hutong, the narrow alley is called Taiping Hutong, and the well hutong is called Ruyi Hutong (Mingde Hutong). After the Revolution of 1911, Zhao Erfeng, the governor of Qing Dynasty, handed over power and demolished the walls of Shaocheng. Some dignitaries came here to build luxury houses and houses and preserved these ancient buildings. In the early years of the Republic of China, the city managers at that time changed "Hutong" to "Hutong".

Now the old city wall and Jinshui River are gone. Kuanzhai Lane consists of three parallel old streets and quadrangles, namely, wide alley, narrow alley and Jingxiang alley. It is one of the three major historical and cultural protection areas in Chengdu, the last relic of the urban pattern of "Millennium Less Cities" and the century-old primitive architectural pattern, and the "orphan" of the northern hutong culture and the southern architectural style. This Qing dynasty block recorded the vicissitudes of old Chengdu, and its architectural style has the characteristics of both western Sichuan folk houses and northern quadrangles. Kuanzhai Lane covers an area of 479 mu, with the core protected area 108 mu.
