Many honors: it won the Gold Medal of the Panama International Exposition in 1915, was rated as one of the top ten famous teas in the country in 1958, was awarded the Silver Medal of National Quality Products in 1985, and was awarded the Gold Medal of National Quality Products in 1990. In 1999, it won the International Gold Medal at the Kunming World Horticultural Exposition. Xinyang Maojian tea is a national geographical indication product. It has Xinyang Maojian certification trademark, national standards, geographical indications of origin, and geographical indications of agricultural products. In 2017, it was rated as one of the top ten tea regional public brands in China (second place). Xinyang Maojian tea production technique is a representative item of national intangible cultural heritage.
