The logo of Ajisen Ramen is the pattern of a sister carrying a bowl of noodles. It has more than 25 branches in Japan (70% of which are in Kumamoto Prefecture). In July 2011, Ajisen Ramen admitted that the soup base used in the company's ramen products was not boiled, but blended with concentrated liquid; in November, the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce recently decided to impose an anti-unfair competition law on the grounds. Ajisen imposed administrative penalties and was fined 200,000 yuan. In February 2012, Ajisen Ramen was exposed to a price increase. The company responded by saying that the price increase had been taking place for more than half a year.
