This mainly depends on brand influence.
It is very good for Venucia to develop into what it is now. A few years ago, Honda Auto, Honda Siming and Honda Concept were jointly called a new joint venture independent brand. At present, Siming and ideas have basically disappeared, and no one cares about them. Venucia compares well to the two of them. At least new cars are still being produced, they haven't been completely discontinued yet.
Skoda is Volkswagen’s brand change model, and Skoda is also a joint venture brand. With the same three components and the same platform, Skoda's price is still very low, so its sales volume in China is no less than 1/4 of Volkswagen. Even though the logo hasn't changed, the Honda INSPIRE is still the twin model of the Accord, with the same higher configurations. Because its name is not as loud as Accord, its sales volume is not as good as Accord. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Venucia is now able to retain the brand. Compared with Nissan, there is still a big gap in brand strength.
Although Venucia has technology from Dongfeng Nissan, most of its models are models that Nissan will soon phase out. The car currently sold as the R50 uses Nissan Rita's technology and platform. Qichen D50 uses the discontinued Yida platform and technology, and T70 uses Qashqai technology. Although Qashqai sells well, it is undeniable that although the technology is mature, it is not very advanced and is even very old.
Moreover, Venucia’s style is quite unique. I think the Nissan Bluebird designer should be the same person as the Venucia designer. These models look avant-garde at first glance, but if you look closely, you will find that they have a bit of a Shamate style. In short, it is intolerant, unstable, and does not conform to the mainstream aesthetics of the Chinese people. Nissan is known for its simple matching of joint venture brands. Cars are inevitably going to be less Nissan-based matches because pretty much the same thing is cheaper. The overall sound insulation level is relatively poor and the materials used are relatively cheap, which is one of the reasons why many people give up on Venucia cars.
