7up (formerly known as 7-Up in English) is a lemonade brand of DrPepper/SevenUp Company. It has been producing bottled products since 1987. Outside the United States, 7-Up is a registered trademark of PepsiCo. Seven-Up was originally named Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda and began production in 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Seven Up was created by Charles Griego, founder of Howdy Corporation. Its previous product was called Howdy orange soda. After more than 2 years of trying different formulas. Charles hopes this new formula will bring a different experience to consumers. He began producing his product two weeks before the 1929 financial crisis. Charles never explained why the product was called 7up. The most common saying is that 7 and u indicate that 7-up contains 7 kinds of spices and is carbonated.
