The Korean Peninsula is located in East Asia. The northeast and north of the peninsula are adjacent to Russian and China respectively. The Korean Peninsula faces China Shandong Peninsula across the Yellow Sea in the west, Japan across the Korean Strait in the south and Japan across the Sea of Japan in the east.
There are mainly two countries on the Korean peninsula, namely North Korea and South Korea. With a total area of about 220,000 square kilometers, the Korean Peninsula is the largest peninsula in East Asia, with an area of about 6,543,800 square kilometers in North Korea and 6,543,800 square kilometers in South Korea.

North Korea is divided into 1 municipality, 2 special cities and 9 provinces. They are: Hiragi municipality directly under the central government; Luoxian Special City and Nanpu Special City; Ping 'an South Road, Ping 'an North Road, Cijiang Road, Liangjiang Road, Xianjing South Road, Xianjing North Road, gangwon, Huanghai South Road and Huanghai North Road.
Korea is divided into 1 special city, 2 special autonomous cities (provinces), 8 provinces and 6 wide-area cities. They are: Seoul Special City; Sejong Special Autonomous City and Jeju Special Autonomous Road; Gyeonggi Province, gangwon, Chungcheongbuk-do, Chungcheongnam-do, Jeollabuk-do, Jeollanam-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do; Fushan Metropolis, Daegu Metropolis, Incheon Metropolis, Gwangju Metropolis, Daejeon Metropolis and Ulsan Metropolis.
