The Tai Chi diagram is the pattern of Tai Chi.
There are many kinds of Tai Chi diagrams, such as Zhou Dunyi Tai Chi diagram, Xiantian Tai Chi diagram (originally known as "The Picture of Heaven, Earth and Nature", commonly known as "Yin Yang Fish Picture"), ancient Tai Chi Bagua diagram (Xiantian Tai Chi diagram surrounded by Bagua symbols), Lai Zhide Tai Chi diagram and Duanmu Guo Hu Tai Chi diagram of the Qing Dynasty. After being passed down to this day, among the pictures, only the Innate Tai Chi Diagram and the Ancient Tai Chi Bagua Diagram are well known. Therefore, what modern people call "Tai Chi Diagram" is the "Yin Yang Fish Diagram" or "The Natural Diagram of Heaven and Earth". It is said that it was created in the Song Dynasty. It was passed down by Taoist priest Chen Tuan. Chen Tuan was a Taoist priest from the Five Dynasties to the early Song Dynasty. He had profound knowledge of inner alchemy and Yi studies. According to historical records, Chen Tuan once passed the "Tai Chi Diagram of Houtian", "Bagua Diagram", "He Diagram" and "Luoshu" to his student Zhongfang, who passed it on to Mu Xiu, Li Gai and others. Mu Xiu passed the "Tai Chi Diagram of the Day After Hou" to Zhou Dunyi. Zhou Dunyi wrote "Tai Chi Tu Shuo" to explain it. The Tai Chi diagram we see now is what Zhou Dunyi taught. Zhou Dunyi "on the one hand absorbed the Tai Chi schema theory and gave it new interpretations from the Chen Tuan school of Yi, and on the other hand inherited the tradition of the Yili school since the Han and Tang dynasties... and became a pioneer in the interpretation of the Yi by Taoists of the Song and Ming dynasties. ”
The special yin and yang of Tai Chi includes various relationships in Tai Chi that can be abstracted as “Yin and Yang”, such as spirit and energy, consciousness and non-consciousness, movement and stillness, non-hands-on and hands-on, and passivity. and take the initiative, follow others and follow oneself, empty and full, light and heavy, empty abdomen and full abdomen, loose waist and straight waist, quickness and slowness, hardness and softness, exertion and lack of exertion, energy generation and transportation, energy consumption and Nourishing Qi, up and down, forward and backward, square and round, arc and straight, outward opening and inner closing, outer shelter and backing, light and rootless versus steady and rooted, expansion and compactness, obvious and dark Wait a minute.
