Tianjin Food Industry Association is a social organization in the city’s food industry. It was established on December 24, 1981 and has independent legal person status.

In order to strengthen the management of the city's food industry, in 2002 the Municipal Economic Commission adopted the Tianjin Economic Diao [2002] No. 2 document "Entrusting the Food Industry Association to manage ten food industry associations" and the Tianjin Economic and Trade Management [2002 ] Document No. 44 "Awarding Relevant Functions and Work to the Food Industry Association".

To "protect rights, self-discipline, coordinate and serve" the city's food industry enterprises, carry out overall planning, industry management, information exchange, talent training, and guide development.

1. Participate in the formulation of development plans for the food industry, and conduct preliminary demonstrations of major technological transformation, technology introduction, investment and development projects in the industry.

2. Participate in coordinating the response to investigations of foreign anti-dumping, countervailing and safeguard measures in the city’s food industry and the investigation of damage to the city’s food industry.

3. Promote and implement national food industry policies and regulations, conduct investigations and research on the industry’s industrial structure, product structure, etc., and make suggestions on the city’s food industry development plan, industrial policies and relevant laws and regulations.

4. Carry out technical exchange and consulting service activities to promote outstanding scientific and technological achievements and promote technological innovation.

5. Formulate and revise rules and regulations, safeguard members’ legitimate rights and interests, and coordinate member relationships. Strengthen industry self-discipline and create and maintain a fair competitive environment for the industry. Strengthen ties with relevant food professional associations.

6. Collect domestic and foreign food information, analyze industry trends, publish relevant industry technical and economic information, and run association briefings and food information networks.

7. Organize seminars, exchange meetings, product exhibitions, demonstrations, etc. to promote learning and exchange. Organize various types of on-the-job training to cultivate talents for enterprises and improve the overall quality of the industry.

8. Carry out industry inspections and evaluations, organize the recommendation of famous brand products and famous trademarks above the municipal level, and product quality supervision and publicity. Participate in the formulation and revision of relevant standards for the food industry and organize their implementation.

9. Strengthen ties with the same industry or related organizations at home and abroad, organize overseas inspections, and carry out economic and technological exchanges and cooperation.

10. Responsible for the guidance of the association’s construction business activities.
